As an Englishman I used to think the jokes you saw on tv were exaggerated; family guy or futurama had one with a police robot planting a gun on someone.
I now realise just how fucked up it really is, I'm not sure if they are just cowards, racist scum or a lethal combination of both.
These are human lives we keep seeing ended in an instant for no reason, I can only assume some of them see black men as subhuman and not worthy of continuing.
In England or any logical country, firstly the man doesn't naturally fear he could now be killed for no reason and would be less likely to run but if he did run the police would chase and tackle and that would be that.
I just can't fathom pulling a gun and killing a man just because he didn't do as you say.
The corrupt system protecting them needs blowing open but with the man the country elected as President I fear nothing positive can change for at least another 3 years and maybe 7!

I understand the cops. He could have run fast enough to circumvent the world and stab them in the backs. Or he could have spun around and flung the knife at them with deadly precision after numerous attempts.

You should see the studies on spousal abuse rates for police too.
If you grew up here in the US, it wasn't surprising at all to see which kids ended up being police officers. It was usually the extra aggressive, sometimes physically violent bullies or jocks.
I'm fairly certain that people living in the US, if you look at your Facebook and see anyone who ended up becoming a police officer, the reaction is more likely than not, "Oooh that makes a lot of sense", and I don't mean in the good "these were good guys who were always protecting the little guy in school" kind of way.
An avowed white supremacist is leader of the country, and only because one of the main political parties representing nearly 50% of the country built its platform on racism. The NAACP has to issue travel advisories to people of colour for certain US states. If you are black, you are considered a second class citizen and barely above a pet.

If police were disproportionately killing blonde, blue-eyed white women then there would be some change to the system.
As an outsider looking in this is baffling. Like, what kind of exchange of words would be had in the court that would somehow conclude in the cop's blatant lies not leading said cop into trouble? Is the judge just "no biggie, you just lied under oath or something and we don't want to nag over every little thing"? There's video proof of them lying so fucking do something you fuck.

The whole system is to blame. DAs will not prosecute cops even when they are clearly murdering people out here.
How many times have we seen this same scenario play out. Cop kills person, cop lies about it, cop place on paid leave, bodycam videos released and show the cops story was completely false, zero charges are filed against the cop and thats all she wrote....
I feel its just emboldening the bad copa even more because they know nothing will happen to them.

Oh they file charges sometimes, but of course the cop will be found not guilty because he "reasonably feared for his life"

I'd say it's the same everywhere. I mean look at my home city of Los Angeles and the history of the LAPD. The LA riots were basically black people in this city saying enough is enough (which I'm very surprised hasn't happened again already across the country).
And just very recently Lee Baca, who was once captain and commander of the Los Angeles Sheriff was just convicted with a huge amount of other high ranking people in the LA Sheriff's department for covering up a prisoner abuse ring. You guessed it, the abuse was mostly towards minorities in the jails.
I mean police far and wide see themselves as basically invincible so they feel emboldened to do whatever they want. And the ones that don't do it, have little problem covering it up and hiding behind that stupid blue line.

I watched a recent video about how black people are killed by a white person in America (the YouTube channel now called Shaun formerly called Shaun and Jen) and how easy it is for them to get off with nary a slap on the wrist due to racial biases and it's all so shocking to me how often these things happen. I'm not American so I'm really ignorant as to the history of this but I give my full support to the movement(s) trying whatever they can to just stop this mess. I honestly can't even comprehend feeling more threatened by a person based purely off of the colour of their skin... that's what it ultimately comes down to and it's appalling.

A very large number of criminal law judges were once DAs. A smaller number were once public defenders.
Very few of these cases would be heard in front of an ex-PD judge because the attorneys for the officers would try to force the judge to recuse themselves based on their history as a PD.
PDs generally dislike police officers.

It sums up he situation quite well that there can be so many of these events that get so little coverage or attention. An innocent man was murdered in cold blood by the people who are supposed to protect us in a position of power. Not only that but there is direct footage of this incident and proof that the police lied about what happened. If this happened in pretty much any other country it would be a massive outrage and would dominate the media and political discussion. Yet in America this is just one more incident to add to the pile.
This is horrific and it's hard because it feels like nothing can be done about it.

The mere fact that they clearly lied should get them fired, charged, and blacklisted from ever working as a police officer or security guard. But of course they face no consequences for it whatsoever, even disregarding that they killed someone.
They shot and killed Justice long ago. Her sister, Complacency took her place.
