Back in June at E3, we announced that PUBG will be launching exclusively on Xbox One in the Xbox Game Preview program in late 2017. Ever since then we have come to realize that we have a shared vision for the direction of the game with the Xbox team. This led to our decision on extending our partnership with Microsoft and I'm happy to announce it now includes Microsoft as the publisher for our PUBG on Xbox One.

By partnering with Microsoft, our team believes that we will be able to accelerate console development, while maintaining quality across all platforms, as well as giving us access to vast sales, marketing and publishing resources that will help us reach new fans to welcome to the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds universe.

Neat. Hopefully we can have separate environments but also have the ability to play with Xbox people. Would love to do cross play as long as it's optional.

they say they're publishers for Xbox One... which means they still need a publisher for pS4?

Why specifically mention publishers for Xbox One, doesn't sound exclusive?

I don't get why they just won't fucking come out and say whether it's coming to PS4?

I hate murky exclusiveness clarification talk whenever anyone does it.

If this is full exclusive it's a huge get for Microsoft.

This is a non story basically. It doesn't have any affect on the product for the consumer, just means they'll handle marketing, retail stuff, and some dev support.

It's not murky either, pretty clear it's just the Xbox version getting published by Ms.

Microsoft also published Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox.

This doesn't mean they can't put the game out on PS4. They could always self-publish on PSN at least.

Oh God, please no..
I have still faith as they followed "exclusively for XBox One" with "Preview Program". So please leave it at that.

If they're publishing it, you would have to think they've squeezed Sony out of the picture

How so? It just says they are publishing it for their console. Has anyone mentioned full exclusivity?

wouldn't be shocked if we're in for another Tomb Raider situation.

If it was exclusive they would say clearly. It isn't.

Publishing the Xone version doesn't prevent Bluehole from publishing the ps4 version.

Smart move to lock this down.

At the very least if this is timed it probably pushes a PS4 release a year out from the Xbox release too if similar deals in the past are anything to go by.

Seems like a TR situation where they used the most misleading wording they could find

Hopefully this ensures the XBox version of the game is quality, and actually hits in 2017. Lack of a firm date at this event is still making me doubtful, though.

Microsoft was wise to snap this up as a console exclusive, even if it's just for 2017. It's the biggest game around right now, and has immense potiental to blow up with the console audience.

It's a launch exclusive but they're trying really hard to fool people into thinking that it's a full exclusive. This is what Shannon Loftis said 4 days ago:

"Not only are there several new Xbox exclusives such as Forza Motorsport 7, Cuphead, Super Lucky's Tale, and the console launch exclusive PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds..."

This is pathetic. Like the game is already on pc, but since it's only releasing on XOne this holiday then it's exclusive for it? lol
