'Justice League' reshoots extensive; Up: Cavill comments on 'stache

I knew once Whedon was connected the reshoots would become extensive. After Wonder Woman, I figured they'd probably try to reshoot a significant portion of the film. People called me an idiot and "hater". lol. Vindication.

Did you really need "vindication" for something like this?

But Superman is dead, why is Cavill availability an issue?

Maybe they haul Clark around with them on hilarious adventures, like that other movie.

The director said there wasn't any.

She said they didn't cut any scenes. They had additional photography to fill in a couple. For example, when Diana
is walking towards the battlefield and sees the losses that took place.
It's normal to look at the footage and see if something should be added to heighten the emotions of a scene.

That has not been the case, however, as the new scenes that are being shot have required him to jump back and forth from each production. Because of this, a mustache he grew for his character in the “Mission Impossible” sequel will have to be digitally removed in post-production. Paramount, which is distributing the “Mission: Impossible” sequel, would not allow Cavill to shave the facial hair while production was taking place.

Or you know, get him to film a quick scene of him shaving and save yourself thousands of CGI dollars.

depends on the continuity, if he is filming stuff that takes place after or alongside stuff he has already shot your solution wouldn't work

The mustache bit is hilarious.

I am also not surprised that Whedon has to work on the "connective tissue" of the film. I could have told you that when he was brought on board. Snyder is terrible at that.

Either way, happy to hear that the setpieces are still usable and I hope this is for the best.

I thought GAF largely dislikes Whedon? What changed?

It makes sense that fans of BvS would love Whedon because AoU has some parallels to Snyder's "masterpiece":

- Smartest guy does stupid shit repeatedly
- Villain is a goofy bootleg of his comic version
- Random scenes thrown in there that make no sense

I don't know why people are making a huge deal out of this. It doesn't say anywhere that Whedon is writing these shots, a lot of this was more than likely planned before Snyder had to take leave from the movie.

Where do you get that from? BvS fans mostly despise Whedon.

Not sure why people are coming up with ideas for him getting rid of the mustache because the problem lies with the JL film, not MI.

Why should the MI filming be altered or include costly changes all because WB can't get their shit together?

The onus is on WB to accommodate Henry's schedule, not the other way round.

Whedon got his start as a script doctor and is still known today as a writer first and a director second. You don't hire him unless you want him to punch up the dialogue. I don't think he's making any big changes, but yes, it's absolutely safe to assume that he's writing some stuff.

Not sure what this shitty response is for.

Henry was hired for a specific time frame to film mission impossible which required him to have a mustache.

Justice league took longer to film then planned and yet people are acting like the mission impossible filming should have to change things when the problem lies with the justice league filming.

Why should they spend money or change their film because a previous job took longer then expected? They don't owe WB anything.

well this thread sort of spoiled that superman is coming back :(
Not that it wasn't bloody obvious but SM has been in non of the marketing material

This can only be good for the film. I'm sure only so much can be done at this point but this will make a big difference for the final product. Mustache-removal and all.
