Spider-Man: Singleplayer, 4-6x size of Sunset, Spider-Man is 23, has Peter gameplay

Yup, maybe it's Danny Elfman?

It would be really neat if that could happen, but he was just announced as the composer for Justice League. He just might be too busy. I loved his scores for Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. He really nailed through music the sensation of Spider-Man swinging through the city.

My hope is Giacchino - although since he's doing Homecoming he might not want to do multiple Spider-man projects. Still, he's done video games before.

If it's not him, it's probably someone from the Remote Control Productions family - not Zimmer himself, but maybe Lorne Balfe or Ramin Djawadi.

Seeing that Insomniac is using more current Spider-Man characters like Yuri Watanabe and Mr. Negative, I'm hoping the game is inspired more by Dan Slott's run in Amazing Spider-Man.

Earlier in his run, Peter worked at Horizons Lab as someone who created tech for Spider-man which could potentially explain how he's able to make whatever gadgets he has in the game like the one they showed in the E3 demo.

With that storyline, there's a whole bunch of supporting characters and villains that a lot of people may not know about that would be cool to have in the story. I love Green Goblin and Venom as much as the next guy but I think having new villains in there can open up the opportunities for gameplay we haven't seen before. If I don't dodge at the last second to run another video game version of Rhino into something to stun him, I'll be A-ok with that. :p

While it's not Spider-Man's origin story, I suspect it will be for some of the other characters within.

Bill Roseman was very excited about introducing some of their less known characters to a wider audience with the game, and Wraith definitely fits the bill.

The main reason I suspect she will become Wraith instead of being Wraith is that presumably she would have been chasing Mr. Negative with Spider-Man if she already was instead of yelling at him to superhero harder.

Good point. I could totally see Mister Negative's story eventually leading to her becoming Wraith as they're closing in on him or something, if not some other villain. Probably Negative, though.

Bryan Intihar's reaction to being asked about Wraith is a bit telling too, actually. Yeah, makes sense to assume she'll show now, since he refers to her as one of the characters they wanted to highlight. Really hoping she makes it into the game.

I'm a bit perplexed by the QTE comments. Do people think the Y button counter prompts in the Arkham games are QTE too?

That's not the same though. In the Arkham games you are in full control and can do whatever you want, here you have to watch a cutscene while pressing specific buttons.

Whomever it is, they are insanely talented - couple that with the tweet from Insomniac Games saying "Not announcing the composer yet" - it has to be a big name composer.

Michael Giacchino, Hans Zimmer, Ramin Djawadi, Danny Elfman - if its any of them, we are truly fortunate.

...

If it was recorded early enough in the development cycle, it may be James Horner...

Demo? I'm pretty sure they're referring to just showing alternate gameplay from the E3 demo. Unless I'm misreading your post.

Aw man, I misread this post. I thought we were getting a playable demo.

I know you guys have talked about this extended demo that's shown on the show floor. I'm not asking for a date or anything like that, but will us at home get a chance to see it at some point?

Yes

But not this week

I don't care if the white stuff on the costume serves a purpose I want it gone. Not a fan of shoehorning Miles in either. Peter segments could be interesting if this is married Peter otherwise I don't give a damn.

I'm sure there'll be alternative costumes you can wear

So out of general interest I put together a list of what I think is all the villains that have appeared in a Spider-Man game in the last 20 years or so. The games I included were Spider-Man 1 for PS1 & N64, Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro, Spider-Man: The Movie, Spider-Man 2: The Game, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man 3, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, and both of the Amazing Spider-Man games. I did not include Friend or Foe as I could not find a list of all villain characters.

I did not play all of these games (but a lot of them) so the villain-lists comes from Wikipedia. The characters are listed by name and how many times they appeared as a fight able boss, plus appereance in game without being in a fight. The exception is Black Cat since I do not know in what games you fight her and in what games she just makes an appearance.

Furthermore various incarnations of different characters are counted as the same, for example Noir Goblin in Shattered Dimensions is listed as Green Goblin/Norman Osborn. The female version of Doc. Ock in Shattered Dimensions is also listed under Doc. Ock so the list is fairly arbitrary.

Total number of games counted: 11

  • Rhino: 5+1
  • Venom/Anti-Venom/Eddie Brock: 5
  • Scorpion: 5
  • Black Cat: 5
  • Shocker: 5
  • Electro: 5
  • Carnage: 4
  • Doctor Octopus: 4
  • Kraven the Hunter: 4
  • Mysterio: 3
  • Sandman: 3
  • The Lizard: 3
  • Vulture: 3
  • Green Goblin/Norman Osborn: 3
  • Kingpin: 3
  • Hammerhead: 2
  • Calypso: 2
  • Green Goblin/Harry Osborn: 2
  • Wolverine: 2
  • Silver Sable: 1+1
  • The Beetle: 1+1
  • Morbius: 1
  • Shriek: 1
  • Boomerang: 1
  • Juggernaut: 1
  • Deadpool: 1
  • Hobgoblin: 1
  • Vermin: 1
  • Iguana: 1
  • Alistaire Smythe: 1
  • Chameleon: 1
  • Luke Carlyle: 1
  • The Tinkerer: 0+1

It is possible I missed some appearances or otherwise made a mistake, but I think this is fairly accurate. The biggest notable omissions is probably Hydro-Man. It's also notable that characters such as Hobgoblin and Chameleon only have one appearance each.

I for one am really happy that you have extended segments playing Peter Parker. I always wished that the Batman games had extended segments playing as Bruce Wayne.

What are our theories about the costume? Bryan Intihar said there are stories reasons for the white spider.

I think Peter Parker has control of the venom symbiote.

My guess would be that it has something to do with Mr. Negative, going only on the information we got at the moment. Although he might not be the main villain I think it's safe to assume he and his Inner Demons will have a presence throughout the game. Since Mr. Negative's touch is supposed to corrupt, I'd wager that the suit is insulated in some way to negeate it. As I said this is only going from the info that we have so I might be, and probably am, wrong.

Question when people say "Arkham" gameplay what do they mean? Dodging and countering? Hasn't that sort of thing been around in Spiderman games before? Like even Spider-man 2 you could dodge an attack and punch back.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the symbiote, and the symbiote isn't part of this story.

The White Spider is something that occurs in the story.

WAIT, I NEED MORE!

On topic, while I love the symbiote, I am happy that it isn't in the story (right now?). Much like the new movies, I'm hoping to see villains and characters we haven't seen in a while. Now, about that spider...

So Greg Miller mentioned suit customization, was this ever confirmed, or was he referring to just costumes selection?
It be a huge deal if you could "create" your own suit, even if just by pick and choosing some elements, or mix & match other suits' parts.

That would make it the GOAT.

I guess it's Spider-Man being able to bounce from enemy to enemy? Idk

Bottom line is people are gonna point to Arkham whether it makes sense or not since they're currently the best superhero games

Please have Multiple spidey suits (more than 5), that's all I am asking.

Absolutely.

10+ would be greatly appreciated :)

I think everyone is hoping for alt. suits. What ones would you guys like to see?

It's not a deal-breaker for me but they are always appreciated. Some that I would like to see are the original red & blue, the black suit, Ben Reilly's Spidey-suit, Scarlet Spider and Iron Spider. But I mean, Spider-Man has had so many versions throughout the years so it's impossible that we will get all of them.

You can choose not to press Y or approach the situation with a number of other moves and the world spins on. It doesn't result in a fail state to miss that prompt.

You posted some great ones. I would love to see the Spidey suits from The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 films, as well as from the Sam Raimi movies and also Homecoming.

Comics wise, the original suit would be great, or the one from Ultimate Spider-Man.

Oh, it's alternate suit wishlist time? Finally.

Nice list!

I actually don't want the movie suits. Most of them are just variants on the OG Red & Blue and seems a bit superfluous, so I would rather have another more distinct one instead.

Maybe it's because I never got deeply invested in the comics and my Spidey love developed because of the original Raimi movie but I feel Insomniac's suit here is the best I've ever seen. It's striking and legit cool. It makes me want to wear a hoodie in the same style and I absolutely can't wait to be Spider-man.

It's fucking awesome. Not sure why the white bothers anyone. It stands out more and, again, makes it more striking. I don't need a story reason for it and if anything, that kind of dampens it because it means there's probably time dedicated to it not being white or something I dunno. I'll be using it exclusively in free-roam anyway unless they manage to make something even better.

I'm rambling because I'm excited and just want more news and footage!

Bag-Man is required as usual, the Big Time neon suit is great, the What If? Assassin Spider-man suit, Noir is great. the Raimi movie wrestling outfit.

Since Bluth got everything else.
