Kevin Feige interview, No Fantastic Four in MCU in the future

He said no Fantastic Four.

He didn't say no Galactus or Silver Surfer.

Might as well have, those rights are a package deal.

I just want to Doom so he can be the big bad like Thanos for future MCU movies

Maybe as part of the reboot secret Wars with alternate reality

I think Galactus and Silver Surfur would be cool if they came over possibly but Dr. Doom is a character I feel is special because of his relationship with Reed/the F4 in general. Dr. Doom's character, who has had life shit on him countless times and gains great power and an empire in spite of it, is cool and all, but his inferiority to Reed is a major part of what Makes Doom DOOM to me. Wanting to be the smartest person on Earth and diving into various worlds of knowledge and making an enemy of almost everyone in the MU in your quest for power and conquest just to be beaten by a stretchy genius who loves his family. That's Doom to me.

Hope he is playing coy.

Fox can keep the X Men and everything mutant, but I really would like to see the FF back with Marvel.

YOURE BREAKING MY HEART KEVIN

it would be nice , in a perfect world.

id also love to see Latveria come from the ruins of Sokovia

I don't get the meh feeling toward the F4, Reed is a greater villain than Doom could ever hope

people only know them from the movies

MCU would do them justice - a true family unit where the true villain is the patriarchal figure within it

man... i need to reread Waid & Hickman's runs one of these days

It's going to be weird getting the F4 at this point if only because they rely so heavily on being "first" as part of what makes them special. So many fun aspects of them are done just as well if not better in other properties.

We just want a Dr Doom, Galactus and silver surfer
Keep those bums known as the fantastic 4

I really REALLY don't want to see the Maker being realized by Fox, and he's pretty much the only other interesting villain for another F4 rehash. Marvel's gotta step in before that happens.

On one hand, I could see Fox hanging on to Fantastic Four for as long as possible. They have what? 7 years to start making another film? That takes us into 2022 before they are obligated to start spending money to keep that license. Why give it back early, even if that is what will ultimately happen?

On the other hand, even if there was a deal to get some or all of the FF characters back, Feige is not exactly going to lay out said deal in a random interview. He's lied to hide big surprises in the past. Anyone would.

Hickman's FF -Secret War run loosely adapted would be the best run of blockbusters ever.

Eh, MCU retroactively had Ant-Man/Wasp active in the 80s. They can slot FF in easy enough.

Everytime I see GotG I just imagine on how bad ass would had been having Silver Surfer appearing, even if its for a small cameo. Those two movies always remind me of Silver Surfer vol 2 comics.

Silver Surfer and Galactus belongs in the MCU.

Fant4stic is a strong contender for the worst CBM ever and the Tim Story movies weren't much better either. Literally nobody in any position of power seems to care about the F4 so why the fuck do they keep trying? I wish Marvel/Disney would take them to court overt the damage they have done to the brand.

I mean look at the money they're making without them. I doubt Marvel/
Disney is that thirsty for the FF. :p

And if they ever do get the FF rights back characters and all, just have them show up from a dimensional rift chasing Doom through dimensions or some shit.THen the Avengers show up and try to work together with them and fix everything. Avengers Meet the Fantastic Four.

If the FF was returned to marvel then, while Doom would be an awesome villain, I would LOVE to see Reed Richards become the Maker and go villain at some point.

Feige's comment about the Fantastic Four sounds more like "no comment" to me.

At any rate I'm pretty sure Infinity War is going to fall back on murdering like every big hero and then somebody has to use the gauntlet to reboot the universe and fix things. It'll end with a handful of characters (that Marvel intends to be the new stars) wondering how the world has changed.

I think Fox will unfortunately hold those rights until the last minute.

Spider Man was a different story, because Sony made a terrible deal giving Marvel all the merchandising money and then made some bad movies.

Fox is probably still smarting from letting the Daredevil rights lapse and having Marvel turn that into a very popular Netflix series.

Doom, Galactus and Silver Surfer are what I want. I'd be open to an MCU Fantastic Four, but I don't know what a good modern FF movie looks like.

Studio executive dissmesses question about future plans to a random interview the thread. If they made a deal, he's not just going to casually drop it.

Man I do not envy the lawyers that gotta litigate trade deals and character boundary lines around all these big movie companies and the minutiae involved in characters down to their races and powers. It's gotta feel surreal at some point I imagine.

Marvel has a restraining order that says this character can not throw his shield, ever or Rob Liefield owes Marvel a truck load of money

Can you imagine if anybody cared about the Fantastic Four?

Ten years ago: Can you imagine if anyone cared about Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor?

(Seriously. They were D-listers compared to the X-Men and Spider-Man. There was a reason no one bought the movie rights from Marvel.)

Well that is a disappointment if true.

Fan4stic is the worst piece of shit i have ever seen and i was hoping a Fantastic four directed by James Gunn would have salavaged Fantastic Four.
