Just grab yourself a Persona with good physical attacks. That should get you through the first two dungeons with ease.
Yes that's what I am doing I have a Seth with One shot kill, AoE almighty/heavy fire and Kurama Tengu with heavy AoE physical and heavy AoE/single wind.

I should probably use someone with charge ability.

Have you finished the Death Confidant? During rank 10,
the little girl
sounds absolutely hilarious. Whoever the voice actress was, she clearly didn't give a shit, lol.

Haha. Yea, that was really really bad. Guess it was a last minute thing. Thankfully it was only like a few lines. Probably some Altus employee. XD

OSK Seth is nuts. I just got Snipe on
Haru
and I see that
OSK is her next unlock
. Ohhhh yeah.

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
Yeah, at 19 I can imagine that fight being a breeze. I'm playing on Merciless, so overleveling is pretty much impossible (I had to spend around 4-5 days between clearing the palace and then some grinding). Once I got access to Rampage the fight was easier, although it's still a bit of a challenge when any weakness or critical hit is an automatic KO.

I just liked the way the various mechanics in the latter part of the fight came together.

Well there you have it. I'm playing on Normal lol

Thought about playing on Hard but the game already forces you to decide how to spend time/resources, I didn't want it being even more limited by playing on a higher difficulty.

44 hours in I'm burnt out. Idk what it is I went into the game with the highest of highs for that good 44 hours than I die one time lose 1 hour worth of progress in the 5th palace and now I'm just dead inside lol. It's hard to explain feels bad :(

Had the same exact feeling when I lost some significant progress in the 7th palace lol

If it helps the 5th palace is the worst of the bunch which could contribute to you feeling burnt out.

You don't get anything for hanging out with them after 10.

Figured. Kinda sucks. You get to the relationship stage and then there's just nothing to do with that person at all. Feels like there should be another few ranks or this stuff should be meted out a bit more across the game time, cos I'm about halfway through the game and now Ann, my supposed girlfriend, will likely never be acknowledged again.

4th Palace is a great chance of pace compared to the others. It has a very cohesive theme, yet still manages to have a varied approach to its level design and encounters. I think it's my favourite so far.

You know, this is the exact moment when I realised that Yusuke is a practitioner of 4th dimensional humour; after all, it's the only thing that makes sense. (There is a giant pause between his last two posts in the chat above. It's amazing.)

The mediocre translation in P5 only adds to his charm.

Like, from what I've seen of him so far, I'd straight-up call Yusuke one of the best characters in all of the Persona games I've played, between P3P, P4G, and P5. There's an eccentricity to him that feels remarkably genuine.

You don't get anything, but you do get some nice scenes if it's your romantic interest. It just makes you feel closer to them, I spent a good few evenings with Tae even when she was already level 10. It kind of made that relationship feel more real, and made the conversations at the end feel nicer.

so text = 'story'? ever read a school textbook? or a dictionary? :) ...

when i say 'story', i'm talking 'plot'. so, what exactly is p5's plot? well, there's some weird stuff going on, people doing strange things, & then blacking out & not remembering later. & then there's these bad adults that need their hearts stolen, so let's become heart thieves! & then there's... what?...

this isn't what i'd call a plot, so much as a premise. i mean, yeah, having completed the 3rd palace, i've now found out that
this other, mysterious heart thief is going around likely causing all the chaos that's happening because, unlike us, whoever it is isn't an upstanding fighter for goodness/justice
, but, me, i'm still personally waiting for someone to explain why i'm supposed to care :) ...

so, no, i don't feel that, as there was in both p3 & p4, there's an actual plot in this game. let's put it this way: while each episode of, say, seinfeld, had a plot, did the series itself have a plot? no, not really. it had a premise. & that's what i feel's going on with p5: i feel like i'm getting these little palace-based stories, set within a premise. but all in the context of no actual, over-arching plot...

The plot/story of P5 is unfolding as you keep playing.

Remember that typical RPG in which you enter a house, read a random book in a bookshelf and you find out this old legend that you don't care about?, only to come back later as... "well, it wasn't a legend. This happened at some point in the distant past" That's basically what's happening in P5. There are many things happening all at the same time while you're trying to punch some baddies that are threatening high school kids.

P5 is the most political game that came out of Japan in recent memory.

Do some research, some of the issues you have to solve in the game are very similar to recent scandals in Japan.

Madarame's story is pretty similar to the story of Japanese composer Samuragochi. Who happened to "compose" music for Onimusha.

A friend of mine described him as someone who is truly playing three dimensional chess and it's incredibly on point.

Pretty sure I know what you got spoiled, and man....that blows dude. Sorry :(.

I honestly don't know the context or the story implications for it yet, so i'm actually super hyped to see how it plays down.

I suspected something way earlier (mostly because i played the past persona games), so its not like i didn't suspect something.

So should I feel like I'm. Not doing a good job in this game if in the first dungeon I want to leave half way through it because I have literally ran out of SP? If this is acceptable to come back should I take a day or two off in game and enjoy trying to level up a confidant or some skill? I'm a rookie to these games so My OCD is telling me go as far as I can.

I did say I would forego anime cutscenes if it meant a female protag, but I have to take it back after this. In-game animation would have failed to capture the key emotions in that scene. It would be worth it to have anime scenes for both genders.

Also, the true culprit was kinda obvious, but at least the build up was actually suspenseful rather than the true culprit in P4 being revealed in a guessing game with Naoto. Story is great up until this point, only hope it continues.

I got spoiled by a Persona 5 bot about that too. It did sorta ruin the surprise but thankfully the rest of the awesomeness was not ruined. Kinda saw it coming anyway. It just bothered me that I couldn't enjoy it for myself.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

Is there no way to see your progress with a book or dvd in the menu?

I havent used dvds but books have those 2 marks which means you need to read them twice. Or 1 mark which means you read it in one go.

You only see them when you are about to read but why would you need to know beforehand anyway?

Read every book in bookstore and I believe another one from somewhere else I obtained and still no trophy. Guess there's more out there.

10/26:
Sojiro is the best guardian. Seriously...got tears in my eyes over this.
10/26 is my birthday, and it didn't disappoint me in-game.

10/26 spoilers
I went to the school festival with
Kawakami. And we ARE in a relationship.
Protagonist gives no fuck.

Edit: lol, almost perfect synchronization, I'm one button press away from the scene mentioned above.

It's about as good a plot twist, the series can do. You'll see, it's glorious anyway!

I get the anger about Atlus's streaming bullshit, but spoiling the story is really low, and helps nobody. These idiots just ruined the fun for their fellow gamers, and didn't stick it to the man at all. Really sorry about that. :(

What about the books from the hangout bookshop and also the books you can rent from school?

Play how you want, but check your calendar in the menu to take into account the deadline to beat the dungeon. Otherwise you'll get a game over.

Don't let your OCD ruin the game for you: It's not mandatory to finish a dungeon in just one incursion, it's not mandatory either to max out your relationship with all confidants. Do what you want and have fun with the game.

Was warned in Gaming side about it too. I should've just ignored Twitter when I was playing. Next time I'll do a complete black out online while playing anything I don't want spoiled. I've been sick and avoided twitter anyway. Felt good. Silverlining was there were loads of other great moments I enjoyed not related to it. It's always about the main cast's interactions that I cared about with the Persona games anyway.

Omg, I didn't know about the school library and what hangout bookshop? I only got the books from Central Street. Looks like I won't get the trophy for first run, lol

There's a book town or something(forget the exact name and I don't have it unlocked on my 2nd playthrough yet) that you go to with some of your social links. Once you've unlocked it you can go there at any time and buy books. He sells one book at a time, you can buy the next one after you've finished the previous one. I think the final one allows you to read faster.

Just unlocked the Strength perk and I've no idea what I want to fuse besides Black Frost for fun.

I saw that Yoshi build earlier and it uses a lot of ultimate persona for the absorb skills so I was thinking I'd see how far I can advance the remaining confidants before trying it.

Damn, thanks. Thought it was just a hangout for Confidants.
