welp

Deathstroke

As inconsistent as I think this book can be I really like when pieces start fitting together. It feel really nice when stuff pops back up and fits all together, it makes the entire story feel really planned out and well crafted. I think I'm really coming around on Priest and just learning to be patient with his writing style.

One of the book I'm most anticipating to read in this whole Rebirth thing.

My efforts to catch up on my back log continue. I've been making great progress. Hold your applause.

Working on Paper Girls now. I only got up to #6 before falling off comics (again). Re-read 1-6 and then read 7 last night. My god, I love this comic. At first I wasn't sure I would. I just wanted to read a comic about kids in the late 80's (who are exactly my age, btw). I wasn't so sure about all this
time-travelly, robo-faced, slag-languaged stuff
. I still don't understand a lot of what's going on. But it's not in the way I don't understand The Wildstorm. I'm not actually supposed to understand some of the things happening in Paper Girls.

Anyway, turns out it doesn't matter. I love the characters so much. And having 12-year-old Erin meet
her burned-out, messed-up 40-year-old self is facinating. Seeing the girls in the present reacting to technology, etc?
So fun. Love it.

Oh good, we have an inside man on the DC side. Marvel next, I suppose.

All according to GAF's master plan to take over comics.

We already have Sandfox!
;)

And don't think it was mentioned in here, but Tim, Donnie, and I were talking about how the next part of BPRD was announced at the end of The Visitor. BPRD: The Devil You Know! For July this year. I can't wait to see how they follow up on Hell on Earth.

So you'll be one of the people from that thread I posted yesterday? :p

Seeing Wick 2 tomorrow~

"Why is the Flash running so often? Running isn't cool. Could he have a skateboard?" - Me

Welcome to TV insider comic-GAF. We have crazy deadlines.

I knew there were a few others around in the industry. I've been at a much smaller cable network for the last year and a half or so. Crazy deadlines sounds like it'll be more fun.

It's awesome, isn't it? I'm losing my patience waiting for the next TPB to be released. I might start buying the single issues as well.

???

Also, DID SOMEONE SAY VARIANT COVERS?

So they're just going to print more copies, again?

Guess it'll be more stuff for stores to hand out on FCBD again so.
Yeah, did you see the last Newsarama interviews on variant covers and extra copies? Customers and store really wish Marvel would adapt DC's current style. Hip hop covers etc doesn't sell at all. Everything just gets put in 1$ bins and then in FCBD when it doesn't sell even there.

Axel: BUT THE COMPLEX AND XXL ARTICLES! THEY HELP! RIGHT?

Archie Horror delayed again, no Sonic book. still no Mega Man.

Waid on Jughead.

NOPENOPENOPENOPE.
Waid has signed a big contract with Archie. Would not be surprised to see him on less books in the next Marvel relaunch.

Btw, Taylor is doing a MMPR Annual going by the Boom! solicits!

I think I did see that article, but I'm not sure. I'm not a business owner, but I'd be pissed off if they were shipping me extra stock I didn't order and probably can't sell.

The hip hop cover gimmick is beyond dead, but I am not the market for variant covers anyway so I'm likely talking out of my ass on that one. I feel like once you've already made enough of them that you sold a book of them, it's time to move on.

Waid signing the Archie contract and reading Champions MU with Whitley...yeah, I think the time has come. Go off on a high.

What are mini Echo's picks?

Wasp: she loves it! It got laughs. She had to show me her favorite panels. I'm so glad. It's a great fit for her (she asked for a microscope for her birthday). She's going back to read the first issue.

-She has read almost every issue of both My Little Pony books
-She likes the new Wonder Woman book, but pretty much just the year one issues and she reads it sporadically
-She likes Squirrel Girl but doesn't read every issue, just the ones that look appealing

Books she used to follow but has dropped:
Invincible Iron RiRi (too heavy)
Ms. Marvel (tie-ins)
Moon Girl (boring)
Jane Thor (confusing)

She's going to love the WW Annual with Nicola Scott art showing the first meeting of the trinity. Has she tried Super Powers or is it too kid-y for her? Maybe Gotham Academy if it isn't too dark for her.

Wow, I'm shocked she dropped Moon Girl and yeah, Ms. Marvel tie ins...sigh.

Have you tried giving her the IDW-Boom stuff for younger audiences? (Strawberry, Steven)

Super Powers skews too young. She used to read lots of books like that but not anymore. TINY TITANS FOR LIFE.

She didn't like Gotham Academy at all. Or Lumberjanes, go fig. She's a cape kid.

Pre-ordered War of Kings Aftermath omnibus back in November on Amazon when it was £67. My order was dispatched a couple of days ago and I've just got an email saying I've been refunded. They claim it was damaged during transit.

Coincidentally it's nearly doubled in price on Amazon since I bought it.

Amazon referred me to a Marketplace seller who was selling it new cheaper than what I originally paid so I just went with that. I've just got an email from the seller telling me their stock is damaged too.

Yeah well the Sonic comics were ending soon anyways so no big deal.

Hadn't read Archie in quite some time though I did enjoy the first few issues.
