I do, but forcing a schedule leads to sloppy storytelling and pointless retconning that could be avoided with more time and care.

It's only going to get more complicated and convoluted. I can stand a bad star wars movie, bit nor ones that continuously fuck with the original trilogy for no good reason other than to meet a yearly deadline.

The Han Solo movie has had a plenty long development time. It's by no means a rush job.

Disney will likely become the first studio to make $3B domestic in a calendar year. No other studio has even hit the $2.5B mark. The only studios past $2B domestic in a year were Universal (2015), Disney (2015), and WB (2009). WB has a another entry or two if you counted New Line as part of it back in the LOTR days.

Insane.

We are potentially getting three great star wars movies in two years if VIII is good. Its crazy how few films there are in the SW franchise for its power. What I want to know is if good star wars movies actually help the box office of VIII be bigger then seven now that there is a good reason to believe star wars movies will be good now.

I saw the movie on opening night in china. It wasn't packed that's for sure. They'd be happier if mr. Bean was playing honestly. They like things very direct.. As do most people in pop culture. They definitely have a lot of cinemas and room for growth on star wars but not sure that will happen. Fast will do great

Will Smith has become the new Eddie Murphy--a really good comic (and in some cases, even drama) actor who should really fire his agent.

And Disney with Rouge One's opening continues to prove themselves as the box-office behemoth that it was throughout this entire year. 2016 is arguably one of the studio's best financial performances in years

Star Wars single handily gave December two massive openings after never having seen a single 100M OW previous.

And both SW releases / massive opening were in two consecutive years, no less.

At a party so I can't do better math but - out of the big 7 film distributors - Disney has released 1/10 of the films in 2016 but made about 1/3 of the domestic money. Hot damn.

Just leaving Rogue One. My IMAX 3d showing had a malfunction with the 3d projection, so they had to show it in 2D. It was like Christmas came early.

What is going on in this gif?

She's Diverging. (Well, more Insurging, really)

No joke she's attached to this AI simulation thats a test to see if, in fact, she's not just divergent, but SUPER DUPER ULTRA divergent.

I mean, I could elaborate further on what we learn about that from Allegiant Part One, but it gets super dumb.

It's a metaphor for the series. Shailene is the real world shattering the box office expectations for being too optimistic.

I honestly thought the series would do better judging by the book's popularity. But I think the final book really pissed a ton of people off.

Honestly the first two movies are kinda fun watches in a 'hey am I being indoctrinated into a cult with all this stupid jargon?' kind of way.

Third is just 'no, it's all just Maze Runner, but even stupider'

Maze Runner was actually pretty awesome until you found out what was really going on with the maze. I still haven't gotten around to Scorch Trials, but don't feel too compelled.

Moana International release schedule:

Code:
Germany 22 December 2016
Greece 22 December 2016
Italy 22 December 2016
Australia	26 December 2016
Brazil 5 January 2017
Argentina	19 January 2017
South Korea	19 January 2017
Turkey 20 January 2017
Hong Kong	26 January 2017
Denmark 2 February 2017
Norway 3 February 2017
Sweden 3 February 2017
Japan 10 March 2017

Moana isn't going to come close to cracking $1B WW, but it should easily hit $600M.

The hell? Japan gets it last?!?

Thank God for going back home for the holidays, lol.

Wait did they refund people the difference?

In the rare instances where they have a 2d film playing on the IMAX screen (like Spectre last year), the price is the same. They always play the 3d version if one exists though. I dislike 3d, but IMAX is the only screen with assigned seating. No way I was bothering with waiting in line on the opening weekend of Star Wars.

Anyhow, the film looked great in large format 2D.

Did The Force Awakens really do that badly in China? It made $124 million, the second highest international box office the film received. Yes, yes, I know, population and what not, but it opened at $55 million so it had some legs. I keep hearing mixed things about the general reception, but I can't see how people think TFA failed there.

The US, however, is truly under the reign of Disney. Marvel, Star Wars, and a revived interest in their animated features is making them more popular than they ever were.

What were your thoughts on it Swiss?

Worth watching in theaters. Not perfect, and typical Star Wars acting (though the leads and the main antagonist did a good job), but some really great set pieces. I'm not a huge Star Wars guy, so some of the easter eggs/references didnt do much for me (or went over my head), but I like the same sort of things in comic films, so I'm sure Star Wars fans got a kick out of them. The film was over two hours but it somehow felt short.

Overall, Rogue One was better than the prequels, and I could see how some people prefer it to The Force Awakens.

I will catch Rogue One on starz, Prequels that cover already known stories bore me for jump. Cause you know how it will end. It's way I still haven't watched Titanic or JFK

You probably should watch Titantic. Was much more worthy of being #1 Movie in the world than Avatar is.
