Final Fantasy XV Judgment Disc demo out now on JPSN & JP Xbox Store

I think it'll become easier to adjust to it once you get a Chocobo. They're basically manual, off road transportation (and can fight too!).

I don't even mind it you see it as a variant of fast travel rather then the more typical mode of transportation.

But yea, I'm looking forward to trying Chocobos out.

Only complaints I have is the driving and the lack of animation canceling when trying to dodge through attacks. I read somewhere that animation canceling is an unlockable skill? Is that true?

It's called Blink, and yes it is. It was in Duscae 2.0 and PD.

I have the original PS4 and ran with HDR on a 4k OLED TV, there are some slight artifacts, but you really have be looking for them. It runs well, but there are a very few clips. There was a shadow glitch I found where I could actually see the moving block for the party boundary. I assume none of the bros can go past that, and allows for the game to render efficiently with a restricted boundary of influence.

Found a level 29 Reapertail enemy at night. She was located northwest of the Weaverwilds label on the map and she was a bit of a toughy. If anyone is looking for a challenge, take her on! She's weak to thunder magic and I ended up taking her down at level 7. She gave me roughly 400 exp! Now on to daemon hunting, if I can find some.

I know about blink. What I meant is there seems to be a lack of animation canceling when trying to use blink in the middle of an attack chain. Like I have to wait for my attack animation to finish before I'm able to use blink even though I'm pressing square right before an enemy hits me.

I need to play this in english and without my tv cutting off the magic hud. Im sold on the game can weapon switch smoothly to keep combo going.

It looks and runs amazingly.

OG PS4 version does look a little blurry in some places, but overall it looks very good and the frame rate is pretty solid from what I can tell.

So will it be possible to play a bit of this without spoiling myself on too much? Like, can I let an intro play out and then explore the desert area as I wish or will I need to play a sizable intro section filled with spoilers?

Depends on how little you know. Tell me everything you know about the game's opening :P

So I am the only one person here that the game feels really stuttery, especially when sprinting, in the HQ mode ?

Feels like frame pacing is off, but I am not an expert. So, does this game have frame pacing issues on HQ mode, similar to Bloodborne?

Is there a way to skip the tutorial? Got half way and quit out thinking it wouldn't send me back to the main menu.

Edit: Ignore me, worked it out.

This is x1000 times better than the platinum demo. I have no idea what I'm doing because I don't know Japanese, but the game play is really fun and I'm really enjoying the open world. The combat is a lot more interactive and it alleviated my concern that the game would be too easy. The weird intro with Noctis getting burnt for five seconds then going white is kinda dumb though.

Spoilers from the previews of the game below. Don't read if you don't want to know.

I hope that linear section that was referred to is only the last 5-10% of the game. I really don't want the game to depart from the fun world for any longer than that.

So guys how's this running on OG PS4? I can't afford no Pro.

Well... it's great. There's nothing for me which is graphically distracting (like what sometimes was the case in games such as Until Dawn or Tomb Raider) you really have to look for it to see a flaw. Everything runs at a stable framerate and with the large draw distance it's just very enjoyable to play. Image quality is great too.

I think the game doesn't start out with the most "wow" lighting but as I played I started to notice it can look really good depending on the time of day and what's around you. In some cases there are these low-polygon slopes with flat textures on them and I think "yeah, this can run on a PS3", but most of the time you're in these large open areas with dense foliage, the beach or a settlement and it looks really good, especially in morning and evening time of day.

As a small sidenote, you can play the demo with the minimap (and controls) UI hidden and it's still very clear where you need to go thanks to on-screen markers always indicating the position of your car and quest objective. It frees up more screen space.

I have the same issue but I only experience it when sprinting.

Tried out the demo today on my OG PS4.

Tutorial was kind of weird as I didn't really know what I was supposed to do. Still don't know when you parry instead of blocking. Did the stuff that showed up on the screen and it worked.
I have to figure out the gameplay in general. Not sure when to defend instead of attacking because you kind of have to commit to one of them, especially if you wield bigger weapons.
Warping is great. It was so fun I forgot to watch my MP and ran out pretty fast.

Performance seems a lot better than Platinum Demo. A few hiccups here and there but not too bad in general.
Graphics are great. Character models are very detailed, environments look really good for an open world game. The pop-ins bothered me a little, but they're tolerable. What bothered me most was the hair when you saw a character's face close-up. It still looks like someone poured sand on them and it seems off and I can't stop looking at it. It's weird because everything else looks rather clean. Is this problem solved in the Pro version?
I'm sure the Pro version looks great. I know this is weird, but this actually bothers me a bit. Final Fantasy is a game where I always want the best version possible. Since they haven't been on PC up until now I got to experience the best possible on PS1/2/3. This time, whenever I look at the game I think to myself that there's a version that looks not only better but also a lot cleaner... I don't want to get a Pro though...
I may be weird.

The soundtrack is AMAZING. I love Somnus. It's one of my favourite OSTs ever. Gratia Mundi is also fantastic. Shimomura really outdid herself this time around.

All in all I'm quite pleased with what we got in this demo. Can't wait for the final game. Let's see if I'm too tempted to buy a Pro for this although I can't really afford one right now :p

Literally every single song so far from this OST has been godlike for me. I need it. I need it now.

same here.

Played the demo....witcher on high end pc kill open world on console for me
impossible to stand this draw distance / shadow resolution
the degration and constrat between what you see when you look beyond and things near you really break suspension of disbelief for me

Played for about 2 hours. Loved what I was able to parse out lol. I'll wait for the full release now. This did get me hyped though

Pretty good demo so far. Had one major framerate dip (single digits) but other than that it's performing well enough. Much better than Duscae.

I know that
you start the game as adult Noctis fighting what some expect was the final boss.
I have no idea how long it goes on or how much extra would be revealed.

Yeah, you'd get that spoiled to you, but there's not a whole lot after it until you're free to explore Leide.

I'm really glad that the base PS4 version is really good, I can't afford to get a PS4Pro right now and I honestly don't want one. Man the wait for this game is gonna be hard, but hopefully Pokemon makes the wait easier.

Nah, it's not just you. The game doesn't hold it's FPS that well in the HQ mode, especially during combat.

However, it seems to be pretty close which hopefully means that the final release will be more polished.

Finally beat that fire golem/ it only took a full night and all m y items....
shit was intense

also what is majin buu doing in my game

latest

:P

Cactuar and fire iron golem are down. I wonder what's left of the super/rare enemies.

Okay guys, I got it. Valse di Fantastica. Is that it?
Gratia Mundi is the name I got when I searched for the track on YouTube. Didn't know this wasn't its real name :/

Yeah, it's that. We are having a little fun since Falk always replies with his avatar whenever someone mentions the fake name. :p

Is there any sure fire way to spawn fire Golem? Cuz running around at night hoping for the best is terrible way, especially since it takes a bit for night to even start...

I think he spawns after you beat few normal ones in a row.

After that he will keep spawning instead of the normal ones.
