Huh. PS4 beat the 3DS this month, didn't expect that with the deals on the regular 3DS.

And looks like X1 didn't break 300k either, youch.
 
Regarding Xbox One, August is a very slow month so if it got close to 300,000 I wouldn't say it did bad at all. Also, if we exclude the 2TB premium model which I don't know if it got a big shipment, the other models were tracked for only 5 days. Do we have examples of new hardware revisions during Summer for a proper comparison?

Maybe because this was the month PS4 was in the most vulnerable situation and we had all the pre-orders for XB1 S and discounts for the old and busted XBOs. So people thought it could lead to a big gap.

Do we know the gap though? This month for PS4 will be interesting considering all models are $299 at the beginning of the month.

That and have an Uncharted 4 Slim bundle launch next week is good. We'll see if it does anything significant this month.
 
September will be PS4 with Slim launch.

I'm not sure how PS4 or the "big gap" got anything to do with this, Bruno is talking about XB1S sales.
Plus we have no idea about the gap between the two consoles.

Honestly no one is going to give a damn. People aren't even rushing out to buy a Slim for that reason.

Lets wait and see how the PS4 Slim sells. If it explodes this month it'll be proof no one cares about that.

It is technically true, the only console which have all these features is XB1S.

S is the only to do all these things together.

There is no PR spin this time... MS is right.

Nice, I think Microsoft can use the S and UHD drive and create a bigger momentum out of it. They could win more than November if they have a killer marketing promo going on.

NPD threads so depressing now. Don't even get a new thread for this month and the best info so far is a 42% increase in gaming hours.
 
Just seems if you start a sentence with "only console" and add features that aren't exclusive they might as well say "only console this holiday with UHD Blu-ray and Call of Duty!" but I'm still learning to read these I guess.

I doubt it's going to matter much. People buy these things to play games and games will be the reason the Slim, Pro and One S sell.

The price is great for all 3 platforms. I think people are making a bigger deal about 4k blu ray playback etc and how that plays to your general consumer.

Win November? :D
They will be lucky not to be destroyed for the rest of the year given what the competition is doing and the early sales they're getting (sub 300k launch month of the Slim).
It's obvious in this sense that Microsoft is clinging to whatever advantage they have, hence the 4K BR drive becoming a main selling point now for the marketing.
 
It's not even a deceptive thing, that phrasing structure is very common in Canada and I assume USA.

I don't think the Pro will sell that well this year, especially when the Slim will probably drop $50 on Black Friday. 90% or probably even more of the shoppers will choose a $249 Slim over a $399 Pro. Especially since only the Slim is getting the Call of Duty bundle right?

It's really bizarre how Mankind Divided has flopped all over the world. First game had very good reception and word of mouth and even this sequel has had pretty good critical reception and yet still there is huge decline compared to Human Revolution. Really hoping that this is going to have legs. I want third game =(
