Because my skepticism of Red Dead leaks could not be greater. My guess is that it's something that was made for RDR or for a potential sequel after RDR's art was finalized with some fancy rendering techniques to make it look nice for his portfolio.
This is all assuming the veracity of the source in the first place

I am not sure about this. I mean for a screenshot it looks very unimpressive, I mean if you are going to make promotional images WHY would you pick this screenshot? So close to foliage and nothing remarkable about it.

I really really freaking hope that the big announcement for RDR isn't a "remastered" edition, I mean I'd love one don't get me wrong, but I want a NEW game, something I haven't played before.

If they announced that RDR 2 was coming with RDR 1 remastered now THAT would be amazing and a huge value.

They could do remaster for this year, followed up by RDR 2 reveal for 2017. That would make a lot of sense. RDR remaster for Xbone/PS4 would sell quite well and would setup perfectly for RDR 2 release.

Looks like a remaster to me, also leaked hours ago was that Liberty City screenshot in the updated Rage engine. I'd love nothing more than Red Dead to come to PC (wishful thinking I know) as well as a GTA 4 remaster considering the ports not the best.

I know I'm probably way off though.
