Got my copy today, I got the Hanzo cards, which is a little disappointing, but Asuka and Katsu are great, so it could be worse. It's not Hebijo, though. Also bought Ayame, can't wait to play as her later

Oops.

I accidentally purchased this on PSN...not complaining, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to play it now and its going to tease me so much ):

I accidentally bought the Ayame DLC for Vita somehow, even though I swear I double checked for PS4. Good thing it's crossbuy, I guess. Not sure why there's two listings in the first place if you get it for both anyways.

After playing more, I think the combat is actually fine. There are always ways to avoid the weird cooldowns with dashes or jumps to keep going. They shouldn't be there at all but you can easily get used to and work around them.

Bonus Hibari "Over the Shoulder" pose. What were Marvelous thinking by putting a pose like this in the game. Doesn't fit her character at all!!

I think the 'stops' are important to the game, otherwise it would be kind of mindless. It makes it more fun since you're learning proper strings and movement to continue strings.

Yeah that's kind of how I see it. Almost everything can be chained, you just have to know how.

It's kind of annoying if you are out of combat and stopping from a run or doing a single attack to break boxes though. That's my only issue.

What exactly is the Dual Blooming Hearts stuff? I love this game but honestly don't give 2 shits about the lore and cutscene stuff, though I watched them all and did laugh at a bunch of stuff and the ending I almost cried. But what I want to know is if it's worth it or will the action part of it just be fighting the same people in the same locations? If so I'll skip and just get Ayame. I was kinda thinking of getting the mega bundle as I kinda want the clothes too, but not sure if getting that would be worth paying all that extra money.

The 'H' stands for hentai.
Been playing the game for a while.

After the super fast Shinovi Versus and SK2: Deep Crimson, the game feels positively slow. Not that I mind since your moves have more consequences, but it is a weird change after 2 games of fast SK gameplay.

If you thoroughly enjoy character banter with the girls' playing off each other, it's worth it.

If you don't and are looking for substantial overarching story content/new stages/drastic gameplay changes, it's probably not going to be for you. Not that any of those expectations are bad for a DLC add-on, but that's not what it is.

I got everything I wanted out of it at a fine price, speaking for myself. But I knew what I was getting into and what I wanted more of from the Senran girls.

OK thx, I think I'll just stick with buying the chars then. I was gonna buy the costumes too but really I hate paying much for cosmetic things and the price they are at now seems too high for my blood, but the characters are priced well.

So, how exactly do you do a puru puru finisher? I guess I'm not doing enough damage on easy. Still trying to learn the game (there's a surprisingly decent amount of depth to the combat).

Did you notice signposts with "!" on them in the stages? Just defeat someone near one and it activates the puru puru finisher

Cool, thanks.

Game's fun so far. It'll even more fun if I could get parry mechanics down. I don't think I've done a successful one yet outside of tutorial.

Weird, so I did the Day 3 stage that says there's 5 platforms to destroy, but it's COMPLETELY linear (it's a straight shot to the other end) & only saw the one platform. Where the hell are the other 4?

Edit: Oh, I found 2 more, wall running finally had a purpose. Really wish there was a counter on the UI or at least the pause menu.

Is it when you're in the city? Have you tried walking up the walls of the short buildings on both sides?

Yup, I remembered the fact I could run up walls, so I figured maybe I could try it on some of the buildings. Got the 4 and unlocked the Heart Missions for Yomi & Katsuragi.

edit: KATSURAGI FINALLY UNDERSTANDING HOMETOWN!

Spamming special seems to be the key to winning against other characters.

So far I'm finding Shiki, Kafuru, Hikage, and Renka the most fun to play. Hate Minori though.

Well I played the game a bit again and finished up day one lol. Leveling up at this point seems really easy. I'm currently make use of some short trips to run through the stage in day one with three platforms to get everyone up to level 20.

Minori is actually very good surprisingly. Her bucket is very useful when you charge it with candy.

In general, playing most of the characters low leveled feels really bad, specially after just platinuming SV. They get waayyy better as they level, though.

in Hyrule Warriors, you can pay in game money to level up each character to be equal with the highest level character you have.
For example link is level 40 and everyone level 5 to 10,you can level up each one to level =< of level of link (40).

Yeah, they've done that with recent Dynasty Warriors games, it's a very handy feature.

..........part of me wishes they'd do it for this, but they'd probably have to readjust the prices for the unlockable stuff (costumes, accessories, movies, etc.)

Yeah, after trying her some more, I'm finding her candy bucket to be more useful. Leveling her up really helped. Each character takes at least two sessions with before I can get their playstyle down. The only exception to this so far is Hanabi. Just really don't like playing as her. Everything feels way too slow.

Also add Miyabi to the list of favorite characters. Her moveset is awesome. It feels like a better Ikaruga, which is absurd since Ikaruga is already great.

I'm enjoying myself way more that I though I would when I picked this up on a whim. Usually not into DW games, but the boss battles, customization, and variety of characters is making this a very fun and non stressful time waster. Only really complaint so far is the story mode seems to cut corners everywhere. The way the game handles any non playable character makes it blatantly obvious that they didn't want to bother making a character model for that character. At least give them a CG or something. I also wish each character had more than like 5 animations in the visual novel like cutscenes. Might give Shinobi Versus a try when it comes to PC.

Oh right, more DLC today.

So is there any specific way I should format my list when I type/link everything out? Group it by PS4 & Vita, or type the DLC, then "(PS4) (Vita)" it?

I think the costumes are too expensive. I'd grab a few if they were 0.99, but 1.99 really doesn't seem worth it.

I'll only grab the characters and the dual heart missions.

I can't seem to find Ayane (DOA) alone on EU PSN, only in a 5€ bundle though

EDIT: If you only want Ayane and not the costumes, wait a bit, they're fixing it.

You mean Ayame, right?

EU store is.
Looks like NA store is currently updating

Yeah, it is. Ayane solo was buried at pretty much the end of this week's add-on update. TBH it's only a couple bucks difference so I'll be getting the bundle with her. Wife will probably want Kasumi's outfit anyway.

Wow, DLC actually isn't up yet. At the very least, I can get stuff pre-typed up thanks to the schedule.

The new DLC today reminds me, have they fixed Mega Bundle Week 2 so you get everything like Ayame and the Dual Hearts?

I held off buying it because I wanted to wait for them to fix the problem.

I actually just went looking for it and the only bundle I can find is the Week 1. God did I miss the opportunity to get everything in Week 2 at a cheaper price? Ughhhh.
