Dark Souls 3 releasing tomorrow in Japan is the worst

me too op, me too.

I don't mind the extra time to have NPC sidequests and good stat allocations figured out, but other than that, the wait sucks :x Not that I can't keep myself well occupied though :P

How many games get released in NA first and JP much, much later? Plenty. Enough that if you were, say, a Japanese fan of Western games like Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, and Assassin's Creed, you'd be waiting about the same length. There's no helping it. Not unless you're a studio who can afford to release all versions worldwide.

Besides what they have showed us in the trailers,i don't know anything about the game, not even the starting classes..nothing.
So excited for this, only a few more weeks.

You can't stress out about things that other people get to enjoy, OP. Your energy deserves better than that. Just enjoy life, and when the Western date comes it will come.

I am a bit on the edge, not because of life, but because of the fear I might not like Batman v Superman.

Im already replaying DS1 in preparation; all sneakin n stabbin.

Seriously, I hate it. I don't understand the decision. Like do they want it in their fiscal year or what ?

The thing I like most in Dark Souls 3 is having the feeling of 'the first of finding that out', even though I most likely did not find it out the first. Also, a lot of mystic get's lost, as a lot of people are just going to play it in japanese. The Dark Souls 3 wiki will be fleshed out when it releases here, I don't like that either.

There's not really a point of this thread, I am just a bit frustrated because of it and wanted to let it out.

But they had time to bring the darksouls3 chicken wings over.

Its the Dark Souls of 7-11 food.

It's because the PC version isn't releasing in JP, and probably requires a few more weeks to polish so they decided to hold back the console releases in the west too for marketing reasons.

It's 3 weeks. And its not like social media will have rampant spoilers. Just avoid DS threads for less than a month and you'll be fine

Yeah, I think you can prevent the game from being spoiled if you're careful. If you're reading through the OT, going through the wiki and Souls subreddit, well you're kinda asking for it =P. Hopefully you don't stumble upon any accidental spoilers, and hopefully the chances of this happening on some prominent media site are lessened with the game only being out in Japan (though it can be imported obviously).

As for losing the excitement of discovery, meh, like you said, no matter how early we have the game we're likely never going to really be the first to discover anything. It's cool to discover something before it becomes common knowledge on the internet, but as long as stuff isn't spoiled for you I think you'll be fine.

I guess its better to piss off everyone instead of only some people.

So, theoretically, is a playthrough using the Google Translate app actually viable?

What do you consider a playthrough?

If you want to learn about the story, go shove any random Japanese text from the internet into Google Translate and you'll have your answer
which is "no."

I completely agree, I think it sucks. But, on the other hand, will we really be thinking about this a year out? Who knows, maybe by the time it releases WW we'll still have some pretty big secrets to uncover.

Sure waiting sucks... but I'd choose few more weeks of waiting for the PC version anytime!

I agree, but I still may end up buying the Japanese version on PSN to "demo", and help ease the wait for the PC version. I mean, my (Japanese) wife and I already own a legitimate JPN account which we use once in a while, so it's going to be difficult to resist the urge once the game is out in less than 2 days.

There was a time when Souls games weren't even considered outside of Asia. Be thankful you're even getting them up till the last one.

And I don't know what the problem is of avoiding spoilers. Just stop reading anything about the game, petty first world problem fixed.

I'm thankful for getting these awesome games, but I also wish they did worldwide release.

The two thoughts don't have to be mutually exclusive.

I don't really see a problem. You'll probably only get spoiled because you couldn't control yourself. Just avoid DSIII threads and the wiki until it releases here and you get to play it, I'm sure it won't be hard.
Edit: With that said, I agree that the game should release here if it's completed, printed and ready to be distributed.

I actually don't mind for once as it will (hopefully) give me time to finish Twilight Princess HD and Salt and Sanctuary before it's out. I canceled my Quantum Break preorder as I just have too many games right now with that stuff, SFV (need to make use of my stick!) and a few in the backlog to get to.

Not only technical issues. The game will undoubtedly get plenty of balance fixes before it releases here too. Which sucks in my opinion. I want the dragonbutts to aggro on me. I want humanity to be a stupidly rare drop. I want Iron Flesh to be broken as shit.

I want it raw, but I want it raw in a language I wield. This delayed release is awful.

Eh, I can take it or leave if it means I won't have to wait loads of time every single time I die and revive at a bonfire like in previous from games (Bloodborne's loading times were crazy on release).

Do we know which streamers are going to be getting a head start via the Japanese release?

I'm hungry and I want to feast on the streams.

I know Aris (FIghting game commentator) will be streaming it, though you might get frustrated.

I really wish it had been a WW release, the discovery aspect of the game is one of it's main selling points to me. Since I play online, anyone that had advanced knowledge can potentially affect my game. Kinda loses a tiny bit of it's magic.
