Well Storm 4's actually a pretty great game.

You know how you just don't expect "licensed" games to ever be decent?
The Storm games are like the Arkham series of anime.
You can tell the games were made by a team that were passionate about the source material and presentation, and it all just drips with care and style.

It will be a great console package for sure, Tekken always is. However Tekken isn't entirely dependent on it's console sales. Tekken 7 is killing it in arcades right now. Even if console flopped, Tekken has its future secured.

It honestly could of, but I believe a big reason the game reached any kind of status for people to start pulling it out in conversations about fighting games with legs has alot more to do with the Marvel and a lot less to do with the Capcom.

So using that as an example for SFV to aspire to just doesn't quite work out imo.

Burning Blood is april / june. I can't see Jojo eyes of heaven doing well at all. Not the best looking graphically and the gameplay does not hold up. I'm not even sure how popular Jojos is in the west.

Lol at downplaying a Naruto game beating out a heavily-publicized proper sequel to Street Fighter.

Capcom have no one but themselves to blame. And I say this as someone who likes most of their games & also bought this particular title on launch (with season pass in tow).

As an SF fan, I'm glad the game is solid & has hit the ground running within the competitive circles. But I'm also disappointed that the series may go back to occupying a more niche audience like it did around 10 years ago, when it should've capitalized on the mainstream success garnered with IV.

SFV broke Evo Records in weeks it will be the focus of the fighting scene for years. We live in the streaming/twich world now Unlike 2007. Am I saying it's gonna do astronomical numbers No, but do I think it'll do ok yes. Lots of games make money off after launch DLC anyway.

I don't see many grinding for fight money They'll buy fighters. Plus many say they'll buy when there's more content. Who knows if that's true though, they could just be standing on their soap box.

JoJo is gaining traction in the US with the manga finally getting picked up from the beginning and the continued success of the anime, but it's got a hell of a lot of ground it needs to make up, and that's going to take a very long time.

It's got potential, but we're looking at a decidedly long-term kind of strategy here.

The single player content of the UNS games is leagues beyond a SF game. They're really not that comparable

The thread is about how a Naruto game is outselling a Street Fighter game in the US. It's not comparing the games themselves, just highlighting the disappointment of Street Fighter V sales.

A lot of people were saying that fighting games don't do well in Japan but make up for that in the west, but that doesn't seem to be the case for SFV.
