Well, tried to play SFV, right after the tutorial the game asks for my country, can't connect to the servers, so I'm stucked here.

Seeing the server problems, I decided to play some survival mode to get more colours for Chunners. It's real dull, given how brain dead and abusable the AI is, but I still wanted to get it done. Beat everyone and at that moment I lost connection to the server, which kicked me out to the main menu, not registering my win and giving me the colours.

Capcom pls, we had multiple betas to sort this out.

It really is a chore, you need to do it for every costume as well ...

On all difficulties except for hell.

While I wasn't really looking forward to facing the inevitable army of online Ryu's on wifi connections for the first month of SFV, it's at least more engaging than struggling to stay online at all.

Anyways seeing as when I did get online I did manage to add most folks to the Rivals section but it's only a one way connection so if the people want it and when I get some free time later I'll knock up a spreadsheet for folks to drop their GAF name, Steam name, Capcom Fighters Network name, perm Steam ID, Region and system playing on. And I've just realised that's 4 user IDs.

What are the refund rules for pre-ordering a game?

Can I get a refund until the game has releases and even until 2 weeks after as long as Im not played for more than 2 hours.

Im thinking of pre-ordering Dark Souls 3, but scared in case the PC-version is crap.

Edit: Found it.

I'd be extremely surprised if the PC version was crap. A huge part of the Souls series sales come from the PC versions.

Did someone folks from the press who played DSIII at Gamescom say they played a PC build? Not that says much after the whole Arkham Knight fiasco.

Even though I'm basically going to use the training room and online 99+% of my play-time, I cannot help but feel a bit underwhelmed by the release of SFV. While I like the new story mode, compared to what's in SFIV arcade-mode, I couldn't find a way to VS the CPU in a regular match, and online features are rather bare-bones at this point. Not to mention the poor controller / keyboard support, which is going to bite a lot of people in the ass. It's certainly going to be a disappointment to anyone who primarily plans on playing the game single-player.

I suspect that Capcom would probably have gotten a more positive reception if they had taken the step of releasing it as Early Access, though I don't know if that is possible on the PS4.

In any case, if somebody in the EU or nearby want to play a scrub occasionally, then feel free to add me / send me a friend-request. My Steam and CFN usernames are both 'Monochromatism'.

Lol, SFV has no cloud support.

Does it actually need it?
If you are playing online, which is also required for Steam Cloud, then your profile is synced with CFN as far as I can tell.

It depends on how unlocks are handled. If you unlock other characters by playing story mode, with outfits, colors etc then you need cloud, I think.

Yeah, but you said the same thing about Arkham Knight (I think it was you) and look what happened.

I don't I ever said such a thing, no. And while Arkham games sell well on the PC it's not even comparable with Dark Souls. PC for Souls is actively one of it's biggest markets.

I thought you'd buy it on PS4. I mean, it's thanks to Sony that we have it, so we should pay our respects, right?

A dumpster fire is putting it mildly. The problem is that the vast majority of forums are essentially unmoderated, and are just left to fester. In some cases intentionally, either out of lack of manpower, due to fear of a backlash, or due to some misguided defense of free speech, all of which only benefits trolls and polemicists. The game 'That Dragon, Cancer' is one example of this, though luckily the developers later reversed their decision to not moderate the forum after it became extremely inhospitable to their actual customers.

Reason why I avoid any gaming-focused forums that aren't GAF. Not that it's perfect, there's a lot of tasteless stuff here, in both Gaming and OT sections, but most of it is tackled by the moderation really quickly, which makes it at least more acceptable compared to 4chan or Reddit.

Made a thread about a recent indie horror game released on Steam, IMSCARED.

Want to see if I can get a few more people to try the title, just beat it fully a bit ago.

Crossposting from the Frozen Synapse tournament thread:

Well, would you look at that.

The Frozen Synapse dev contacted me to mention that they are throwing in a Beta invite for Frozen Synapse 2 (Beta might start in ~2 months). For the last Beta I entered with Mode7, I got to keep the game after the Beta ends, so maybe that is an interesting aspect for some of you :)

Since getting 30$ in price money AND the Beta is a bit much, I might restructure the price pool a bit though, like:

The best 3 players can choose from one of those 3 prices:
  • Frozen Synapse 2 Beta invite
  • $30 in Steam gifts
  • $10 in Steam gifts

What are you guys thinking about that?

And huge thanks to Mode7 for this opportunity :)

Maybe the Beta invite might be interesting for some of you as an added incentive to join the tournament :) Still about 2 weeks to sign up and train your tactical skills.

Considering many of you already own FS, I would say that this is a decent reason to finally play it a bit and participate. :D

It seems unforgot that uncharted 4 is releasing this year and u know how ps4gaf feel about their 'exclusives'
Maybe some people will confuse Dark Souls 3 for Bloodborne, since they are going for a similar look and its from the same dev. That could push it above Uncharted.
