Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

Repeating this since I think you missed it:

I looked at the PSBlog post with beta details and it didn't clarify this. No mention of sharing/streaming at all.

Combofiend just confirmed that share functionality will NOT work in the beta. :(

EDIT: Oops, looks like you just saw the article.

Do I want this on PC or PS4? I'm heavily leaning towards PC even though all my other fighters are on PS4. Think I am going to sit this beta out and join everyone in the next one. This tease will probably just make the wait that much harder anyway.

This is kind of the wrong thread for this, but the game is going to have cross-play on PC/PS4, so it really doesn't matter.

Yup, randomly selected matchmaking makes sense for their testing purposes but be prepared for LAG CITY.

Agreed 100%. It took me at least a month just to get comfortable with the damn stick man. I initially bought it thinking hell yeah, this gonna improve my executions and I'll be a beast within couple of weeks...NOPE! lol
But there really is no going back now after playing stick. Gonna be tough in the Beta since I don't have a TE2 and don't plan on buying another $200 stick anytime soon.

I just got my TE2, and I'm having to get used to it now a little. I had a cheapy stick to hold me over for the last year, and I'm used to some of the stiffer ways the stick worked on that one. Still, it's a hell of a stick. Love that you can just pop it open to swap parts. No screwdriver needed.

Man...Capcom really seems to being doing right on this game when it comes to positioning this as the pinnacle of the next wave of fighting games.

Along with their LoL-like post launch strategy, it would be very much be in their best interests for this game's online to be excellent.

With these three betas and Capcom's forward thinking game plan.....what if....what if we actually get a Street Fighter....hell a fighting game in general, with near flawless online?

Man this game can potentially be outstanding. More so than for just the competitive scene. And the coolest part is, I feel like Capcom is actually making all the right calls to make it so.

It was confirmed via a tweet earlier and in Combo's latest blog post.

It's just likely they don't have Share functionality up and running, and they don't want it screwing with the current build. Certainly not something they want to worry about while testing something else right now.

Nah I knew that and it still matters to me. Will this game have mods for the PC like USF4? My PS4 is setup with my TV and my computer chair isn't the best to use an arcade stick in. What are the PC specs, how will it run on my system? How will lobby invites work between systems? There are a number of things I am debating. I wouldn't even be debating it if the game didn't have crossplay, I am debating it because it offers it.

Capcom reps said they're considering Steamworks functionality. They've also been generally quiet on cross-platform invites, which will likely require a whole other system to be implemented.

I wouldn't bet on it TBH. To be quite frank, PC ports are always a shot in the dark and it's clear PS4 is the lead platform in their long term SFV strategy. I don't look at that platform as being reliable for new releases.

Daily maintenance from 11pm-1am? Those are most likely the only hours I can really sit down and play this and then I have a business trip from I have to go on beginning of next week.... Great.

Registered for the Beta in the UK when the site went up within the first half hour. Haven't got into the Beta. Fuck my life.

Aww man, some kind soul gift me a TE2 PS4 stick please. I need this lol.

I'm forced to play with a controller, and I'm sure plenty of others too. Just have some fun and help Capcom test the game.

That's how I'm going into it. It's not so much about being competitive as much as it is making sure the netcode is damn near perfect. That's what this beta is all about.

I hope a lot of pros are gonna get in on it and stream. Gimme the new tech.
It's like 4 characters bro lol...this first round is very much about testing the servers and an introduction to the game. Just have some fun. Also, ppl worried about controllers shouldn't, game has easier execution that SF4

Preorder from amazon.com, it has worked wonders for many of us.

I already have a US Beta code, however I I don't want laggy matches with people from the US. Unless the Beta is worldwide and you are matched with people near no matter which Beta you are on.

4 is plenty. I wanna see what the players who've already had plenty of time on them can do. I plan on having fun, but I know it's gonna be work to back off the habits I've got from 4. Crouch teching and starting combos with jabs and shorts for starters.

It has worldwide matchmaking. Do you seriously think they produce two different betas? That is extra work.
