If it results in less Angry Joe videos, I'm for it.
Yep. Dude enjoys making money off of other people's games.
It's funny that these YouTube "reviewers" think that they're entitled to make money off the games they show as if they're doing "free" advertising, yet the proper reviewing community of most mainstream websites have a clear line between the ad revenue staff and he reviewing staff. And yet those same people get lambasted over "ethics" concerns.
If you want to be an advertisement and make money from advertising, be an advertiser, don't try to be a "reviewer" or "hard hitting interviewer".
Indies do it because they have no money to get any other type of exposure. Its not some random act of kindness.
Again that's from Nintendo point of view unless you work at Nintendo or have shares why do you care if he makes money from it?
Pewdiepie did what? 2 Nintendo games total beforehand. And Totalbiscuit is a PC centered channel. Similarly, this is like Angry Joe's second or maybe third Nintendo video. The argument that they 'abandoned Nintendo' is bogus
You are distributing it. The video game is an audio visual work. You are taking the audio you don't own and the visuals you don't own and distributing it. Some companies are fine with it. Some encourage it. But some want you to sign certain agreements before they allow you to do it.
YoKai isn't even worldwide and still gets memotioned in bad argumemts before Pokémon.3DS would be screwed without Monster Hunter and Yokai Watch though. Those sold at least 10 million units alone.
what ad revenue?
I hope he enjoyed the free ad revenue.
This as well.
Disney has made lots of good original content as of late which Nintendo I cannot say does.

Gamefreak am cry
Is this a joke?
I doubt anyone who is a Nintendo fan really cares about AngryJoe and it's not like Nintendo doesn't spend millions in advertising elsewhere.
Why do you care that people have an opinion on something? This is a message board after all.
lol
Yes, this was why the program was made. They want to control what content gets made about their games. Does not matter good or bad, as long as they have some control. But this is clever on Nintendo's part, because only the most loyal will lie down like door mats to continue spreading the good word of Nintendo. That guarantees them nothing but favorable YouTube coverage, and high review scores.
No other Publisher is doing this besides Nintendo, EA doesn't do it, Ubisoft doesn't do it, Activision doesn't do it, Square doesn't do it, hell even Sega doesn't do it.
I could understand if this was a polarizing issue, and it was a bunch of different companies/publishers on both sides of the isle, but again this is Nintendo being Nintendo and being different vs every other major publisher letting Youtubers do their thing.
This as well.

Nintendo has created some of their best software in years on the Wii U.
I should have looked at your post history and the post you made in this thread before talking to you.
Don't bother answering me, I got my answer.
This as well.

The difference is that Disney is maintaining universal mindshare and keeping up with the times. Nintendo is not.
I find it really weird that people here a defending Nintendo. Sure they are in their right but how those that help you or anyone except Nintendo (I'm not even sure that it will help them) if there's less youtube video of their games?
Didn't he already make that video the last time this happened?he uploaded the rant right now
So because... I like Nintendo, I can't have an opinion or answer to you? Get off your high horse.
It's not just about defending Nintendo, it's about how these youtubers overreact when they are hit with these copyright claims." Give part of my profits to Nintendo?? No, I'm not going to upload Nintendo ever again!" It's like a young kid being angry he doesn't get to eat candy before dinner. Nintendo's system is a bit like a censor and it ads guidelines that most don't want to bother with, but rather than try and help them improve the system they just stop bothering with it altogether from the get-go.
As far as I'm aware the system is in beta. And I assume being part of a large network like Polaris, one could at least try and discuss this in an adult manner within the company with connections to experts and lawyers.

Hahahahaha. Ok so I watched one of his videos for reference. Now I have an informed opinion that i'd like to share.
First of all, His youtube channel is for 10 year olds. The only difference between this and and 'blues clues' is that Steve from blues clues didn't say 'FUCK SHIT BITCH' every other word out of his mouth. Why is this relevant? Were talking about nintendo, who tightly control their brand with an iron fist. Do you think they want 2 million kids watching some video of Super mario screaming 'FUCK YOU DIE BITCH' at princess peach? No. That's why their revenue process is pre approved because believe it or not, the all mighty dollar is not the only factor for nintendo. they believe in their brand. They don't want it tarnished by half wits like this guy. they are well within their rights to take steps to control how it's presented.
Do you really think nintendo cares about some abnoxious youtuber's revunue scream when said youtuber is shitting up the brand screaming 'FUCK YOU FUCKING DIE' at mario? whey don't they just announce 'Mario VS Mortal Kombat' or 'GTA: mario edition.'
I mean, Those products would sell right? Probably make them more money than angry joe's youtube revenue, right? is nintendo stupid? do they hate money? no. They just care about their brand.

It is pretty crappy IMO.
man there are really people defending Nintendo.. and not just a few either.
Because it's a childish amount of thinking that went into the response.
The case is about the future of streaming and marketing. Many publishers are adapting to this new way of getting recognition.
Besides, AJ's POV is FOR US GAMERS. No reason to defend a company, I will never understand these people.
Companies don't give a fuck about you, save yourself. That's capitalism.
The only reason capitalism doesn't work effectively is because corporate apologizers screw with the way it's supposed to work.
How many are original IPs though? Did those IPs sale? The only Nintendo games to get into top 10 year end sales was Smash Brothers and Pokémon, both which was mostly 3DS games.Nintendo did as well. Just look at the output of the last two-three years. Plenty of high-quality games.
No because you instead of having a proper conversation you respond with personal attack and "lol".
"Why isn't this company letting me make easy money using their properties??" I really don't get how Nintendo is supposed to be the wrong one here.

Does he even think when he posts this stuff? if he has spent this money it's because he thought that he made an equivalent exchange thus making the purchase worthwhile, it's not like someone forced him to give nintendo this money to buy a WiiU.

So he prefers to throw a tantrum instead of signing up to a program (that has been known for quite a while) and taking in some revenue, even if a cut goes to Nintendo.
It's not the first time he complains about this either, so I assume he's just going with this angry persona people like so much for some reason. It's especially ridiculous considering a fan donated him the money to buy a Wii U.
There are plenty of good points in both sides of the camp when it comes to video monetization, but I find the entitlement some of these guys have about making money off someone else's work absolutely embarrassing.

The Last of Us managed top 10 during 2013 I think.
People also underestimated how much Smash Wii U would help Wii U sales.People underestimate the swaying poer youtubers have when it comes to games and game sales
I don't think he is a company of one I'm not a big fan of his but I think I remember someone in another thread saying he was a part of a bigger company that might have bought him I don't remember, maybe someone else can confirm. So AngryJoe is a little angel that does all this FOR US GAMERS, not so he can make money?
PS: AngreJoe is just a very small company of one, so no reason to defend him either.
The issue with the creators program is not the control, but how unfair the channels are punished. Nintendo takes 30% or 40% of your money and each video takes about 3 days to get approved.A creator having control over their IP is crappy? Some crazy mental loops going on here.
Alternatively people would still be making the same argument even if Nintendo was swapped with millions of other creators.
Joke post? It has nothing to do with Joe. They would do this against anyone, even a 10 year old who shouts that he loves Mario if he/she's monetizing it.
