We have the same Birthday lol.

I only had to use 4 vacation days, it's not that big of a deal. Get the weekend off, then booked Mon - Thurs, then it's Easter Weekend which I get off as a stat. 10 days total.
 
I want Minsc and Boo in the game. Somebody make that happen. Space technology allowed them to flourish in this world, Boo made it so.
 
Always bothers me when your portrait is in a different style from the rest of the game. Hope I can find one in-game that'll suit my character.

Same for me, but so far from what I've seen none if the available portraits have really struck me as one I want to use. So I'm trying to find one that look as similar to the real ones as possible though there isn't really much out there.

It does help, I guess, that even the official portraits aren't all the same style. Some are much more detailed and realistic than others that are a bit more cartoonish, for lack of a better term. It's a weird mix.

Not exactly uniform at all. Multiple styles, positioning and so on. So there's some room for outside stuff.
 
Last year before Divinity:Original SIn came out, I was not very hyped for more old school RPGs. But then I bought/finished that and the memories of BG2, ID, Arcanum and PS:T came flooding back. I also loved Wasteland 2. Each of those games got part of the itch I forgot I needed scratched but didn't get it completely. I am so hyped for PoE now and hope it'll remind me of Chapter 2 in BG2 again....

(and then my true dream followup, Torment will one day follow...this is truly a golden age we are living in people!)

Yup... It's always the worst when that happens.

Dragon Age: Origins and Neverwinter Nights 2 had the right idea, allowing you to make your own 3D, dynamic portraits (the former even had expressions), but even then they lacked the personality and expressiveness that is inherent to the well done portraits of olde.

Yep, just have one so far. I think it matches the PoE style well and doesn't look out of place.

Got it from DeviantArt (modified the eyes to match the in-game model) which I found to be a good source for portraits. Once you find one artist you like, their works are usually part of collections with similar styles.
 
This game is going to be moddable through and through, isn't it?

Like, are we going to be able to put new 3D models in?
 
I dont miss them in Planescape because the Planescape companions are superior (most of them anyways).

Those aren't the final set of Portraits. The devs have said recently that they are making A LOT more portraits like this one: https://instagram.com/p/zxZu10Jx0A/?modal=true

Not exactly. I mean, they're not going to stop anyone from trying, and they'll provide as much help as they can to people interested, but it's not specifically built for easy modding, especially in terms of importing new assets. They've already said that the process whereby they make the backgrounds especially, is a very complex process, and not one which they can easily provide tools for the community to. Putting new 3D models in might be easier though.

Oh I know they're not the final set, good to see something new though. Not exactly my cup of tea though. I actually want to see a detailed face with some personality for my character. But more options are good.

I've generally find all the companion portraits we've seen to be quite great, just none of the player ones have struck a chord with me. Hopefully one from the full set will.
 
Not sure how I feel about attributes in this game so far. having kind of universal effects from them like might affecting all damage or int effecting all duration time and aoe across all classes sounds really cool but wouldn't that make for a lot of pretty similar builds? I'm not in the bb so I'd love to hear what you guys think.
