Fuck :( Even though I'm not french, I went to a french school in Portugal for 15 years so I consider France my second home. This is so sad.

Why? As horrendous as this is, it's still only carried out by a few crazy individuals that happen to belong to a group that number in the millions.

Don't lose perspective.
There is a problem with that narrative. Even if there is a minority of a religion that actually take part in jihad, honor killing, try and establish sharia law etc, then you must wonder how many affirm what they do without their own personal "boldness" to carry it out. Look at some of the polls of majority Islamic countries. Its unbelievable what high percentages of some of these populations believe about these things. I wish more moderate Muslims would speak up but I understand them not given that its dangerous to oppose such people especially in certain areas of the world.

Easy to say when crazy gunmen running around in your neighborhood.

Well, it is my neighborhood too.
Similar thing happened when I was studying in the Quartier Latin in 1995 and there were bombs planted in the underground or public bins. Those things are terrible, but you shouldn't let them change your ways.

Not as many as you want to think.

"I found some tweets from tweeters so that proves muslims are evil" is what you seem to be saying with this image. :-/

Anyone saying that cartoon makers, despite their undertone, deserve death is a nutcase on it's own.

Breivik chose to be baptized at age 15. He self-identified as “Christian” on his Facebook page. He thought “Christianity should recombine under the banner of a reconstituted and traditionalist Catholic Church” or, later, under a new (traditionalist) European Church. he considers himself to be fighting in the name of “our Christian cultural heritage.” He supports a reconstituted Knights Templar devoted to winning a war against Islam in the name of Christianity.
All of this says “Christian terrorist.”

He was completely self-made and self-taught though right? There was no Christian religious or political leader pushing him or steering him.

But they had bulletproof vests, a car ready to pick them up for an escape and they didn't wait for a fight with the police. Looks like they did expect to make it out alive - which is somewhat unusual for jihadists.

They're talking about this on the news - we're seeing a new generation of terrorist attacks. The training and fighting abroad has shored up their tactics and execution, they no longer feel like the only option is a suicide attack or a quick, shocking attack and then waiting to be arrested/shot by police.

Terrible, terrible, terrible and I'm now thinking about the implications of this terrorist act in Germany. There have been protests there lately, right?

Muslims in Europe are going to become a bigger and bigger problem as their population grows. The contrast between muslims and other people living in Europe is simply just too large.

I'm OK with multiculturalism, but that doesn't mean I'd have to like every culture and the muslim culture is one I definitely do not like. It's a culture that's severely off-balanced. It's too masculine and far too outdated. It's in dire need for a reform or, preferably, dissolving altogether. There's no place for it in a modern, civilized society.

My grandfather was an Imam back home in Europe. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. He died last year, but whenever the subject came up, he would refuse to identify these terrorists as muslim. More like uneducated criminals with arabic names.

Tbh it's not hard to see why there's been such a rise in anti-Islam sentiment in Europe. Might be for the best if these Muslims stick to their own counties if they're not willing to assimilate.

That's what I'm thinking. It almost seems like this is being done intentionally to make it look like Muslim extremists. What prophet are they evengeing?

I'm not saying it isn't the case and it is what it seems, but I've noticed there are many anti-muslim Europeans, even on this board, and it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be some kind of Euro version of extreme right wing group that wants Muslims out of Europe.

You mean AQ which wasn't really true but AQ fanboys seems to claim this even though it was fine for AQ to send two plains into the twin towers among other acts where civilians were killed.

Nobody said that and who is a Al Qaeda fanboy? Get out of here with that shit. Both groups are completely abhorrent. It is true anyway. Robert fisk reported on it.

Yep. And each week the number of participants grows. I'm witnessing it first-hand since I live in Dresden. They (ab)used the recent attack in Sydney as well for their rhetoric and this incident is a huge amount of fuel for their fire. It looks like a perfect storm and I wonder where this will lead.

And it's only going to get worse.
Just another by-product of decades of failed multicultural policies that have encouraged Muslim immigrants to create parallel societies and remain segregated in urban no-go zones rather than become integrated into their European host nations. We can’t expect to uphold pluralism and secular social systems as pillars of our modern European societies over cultures that don’t uphold these values.
This shit is only gonna fuel more hatred on both sides of the political spectrum, and certainly also make life more difficult for those islamic communities that actually do care and strive to integrate into European societies.

They were clear professionals. They weren't the usual jihadists shooting around, they've used their AKs semi automatic to improve aim, thats one of the first things you learn in the army. They stay completely calm and look to have a pretty professional aiming stance.

I would bet you that they have experience from somewhere.

judging from the footage I just saw on BBC (if that was the cop they were dragging out) it looks like the bullet didnt go into his head but more like in the back/neck. Still horrible but he may survive it

It is great your grandfather reacted like that, but there are clearly imams in Europe that aren't reacting the same way, going as far as actually supporting terrorism like the imam that was arrested in Belgium last year because he was trying to send teens to Syria. There are terrorist supporters in wrong places that need to be weeded out of their position so they can't poison the youth.

Such ignorance. Most muslims integrate in the new societies, are willing to learn and THEY shoild go home again because of some nutjobs that share the same giant religion?

I'm devastated and I don't have really the word to express all that I feel.
I'm not too worried for my commute via subway in several hours, I just want this guys to be bringed to justice asap.

With the amount of religious diversity in the EU somehow it's always the same suspects in these kind of events.
To be fair, the largest Muslim group in Europe are Turks who are never involved in these kind of attacks. Majority of Islamic terrorism in Europe is by Arabs and Pakistanis.

So when you say same suspects, you can be more detailed than just Muslims.

Perhaps it was secretly ordered by the Pope to convince the people of another Crusade ...
*sigh*

So we're already at the 9/11 conspiracy stage. How wonderful.

Well in the 70's and 80's far right groups made acts of terror pretending to be far left groups

So your idea may have some validity

Yeah it's a ridiculous statement. Most of "these people" (muslims) are targeted by fundamental, islamic terrorists as well which is why they fled their countries in the first place.

I mean give me a break, it's just the newest local fad for people who like to get outraged without any perspective. (Just like the Hartz IV marches and what not)
I happen to live right next to the meeting point where the march in Cologne was supposed to start. You know how many people showed up? Maybe 50.
It's not a movement by any stretch of the imagination.
