My golly using Marth in FG with lag is like using Ike in local modes. Damn feels so heavy. Luckily his tipper is just so strong that I got saved a good number of times because it can KO even as low as 65% when near the ledge.

Or even try to add them as a friend to play against them later. I'd definitely love to play that Luigi player again.

I mean, Pokemon X/Y did it, so why not Smash?

Whoa, Pokemon had the option to add players you just played against, if I'm reading that correctly? I'm surprised Nintendo would include that in Pokemon, but not in Smash.

A good Marth is absolutely terrifying to me.

My Pit game is getting so much better! I'm looking to put him through the For Glory ringer soon and forge him by fire. This is the first Smash game in which I've achieved basic competence with more than two characters and being able to counter-pick feels like accessing an entirely new depth of the game.

Hmm, okay thanks for the feedback. I'm really liking Pit in this version than Brawl that for sure. He has a lot more reliable smash attacks that can actually KO.
I have a pit I haven't used online yet but he's a blast to play. I love his animations/moves.

Impossible to beat competent Macs. Every punch does like 20 damage, lol.

Again, 10 straight different opponents beat me using him.

Oh yeah, he animates very great but so does a bunch of other characters. Pit side-B is pretty good considering it has super armor and apparently reflect projectiles and can KO opponents at around 125% assuming stale moves and weight isn't a problem.

Ness absolutely destroys little Mac. Block and grab, and pivot pk fire. Throw him up and pkthunder the crap out of him. Use fair as a shield.

He has two great reflect options. His down B reflects projectiles and deflects physical attacks and even sports a wind box that repels an approach. His side B can even reflect a projectile at a new angle if you make contact during his uppercut, meaning you can take Samus's charge beam which usually travels horizontally and reflect it back at 45 degrees. It's an excellent option for approaching classic Samus missile spam.

You're having trouble with ROB? He has all the tools you need to get the job done.

I guess I just don't know how to use him properly. Seems like every projectile gets broken while mac is able to progress forward still.

EDIT: Also seems like I've advanced to facing tougher opponents. Just got my ass kicked by a ridiculous Fox. Wanted to play again and he quit out. :(

Haha. I'm one of the those that think Mac is balanced, no air game or recovery, throw me off the stage and hit me and I'm done. With some characters it actually becomes a mission to be able to hold your own. But I love that trying to overcome it :p

When you are ready!

I'd imagine you can just block and grab?
Bowser's Fortress. Extremely fast startup, good damage, and knockback.

By the way, since we're both wireless now (har har), we should play. My friend code:

PM me yours.

Sheild grab Mac's dash? That's asking to get hit by his jabs.

Most Mac players are really predictable with their dash attacks tho, so you can just hit him out of it.
I used to try to grab it, but Little Mac often goes through Bowser a bit when he does his dash attack, and it leads to a whiffed grab if I can't tell which side it is on. Fortress is the better option because I don't have to evaluate my situation.

This! His dash attack always ends up on the wrong side of a grab! I was wondering if everyone had that problem or if the guy I was playing was just super good at managing distance.

What are good counters to Mac's dash if you don't have an armored move like Bowser? Up tilts? Shield then jab then ??? ?

I dunno if that is ever good advice

His down B and flame choke can wreck Mac. Flame choke > down a then jump and flame choke down > down a again. Or try to read him on wake up and go for a Smash attack or dair.

His down B has priority over most of Mac's moves, if he's dashing at you and doesn't cancel into shield often, he's done.

I wish I could upload replays to some Smash TV like function, I have a ton of amazing matches.

Can't you roll out of flame choke > down a?

While I'm waiting to pick up my wife at the airport I'll speak on this match I had with a little Mac player.

He was naturally very aggressive and put a lot of damage on me initially. Palutena doesn't die easily though and I just started baiting and dodging his ground game and putting big damage on him with my attacks. A lot of her normals have good priority and I was able to out reach him with the staff. I also did a lot of juggling from the down throw. He didn't even need to be high in damage. I'd toss home off the edge and use my forward smash to keep him away from the edge in game 2. Even when missed it blows the opponent away.

It felt so good. Then after two matches he left. :)

Teach me your pro Palutena ways.

Yeah, but no one does it. Not sure if it is because of input lag but it works, even then, you can still try to read them on wake up. I don't see many Mac's use the counter, but flame choke is a great option against the ones that do. I got bodied by a Mac while using Lucina, but have been having more success against them recently. DDD would be a great Mac counter if not for the fact that his gordos can be used against him.

EDIT: I am soooooo bad with Palutena. I struggled beating Classic on 7.0 with her.

I must be a part of the problem, i really like Little Mac. I was hesitant to use him at first considering he seemed like a cop-out character, but man does he suit my playstyle so well. However, there are a lot of cheap, bad Little Mac players out there simply using him in an attempt to gain some sort of leverage. Surprisingly, I haven't encountered that many Little Mac's besides myself. The character that scares the crap out of me most are good Sonic the Hedgehog's.

Played a ton of rounds online as Metaknight (mostly teams), and the lack of solid kill moves has been painful on him. I think they nerfed his down smash pretty badly, because I remember that being pretty reliable in brawl, but now the knockback isn't great and the damage is pitiful (around 7% or so for a smash attack). Nowadays it's the Forward Smash, Teleport attack, and maybe his Up B that can be used to kill. I've been trying to kill with the last hit of his side-B every so often, but the opponent will often bounce out of it if he's at high percent (which is the only time the last hit would kill). His damage leaves much to be desired too. When I see a Bowser/little mac/charizard/ganondorf on the other side all I can think about is how MUCH damage they do compared to my sword swishes.

On a general note, I kind of like what they've done with the "combo attack" in this game, like jab combos, multi-hit aerials, or multi-hit specials. They all have a knock back hit tagged on to the end now, instead of having your opponent bounce out and then being left swinging at the air.

Mine is Dedede... I just can't figure out how to play against him :(
his hitboxes are too weird for me.

I wish Robin's ground-speed were a little faster. It's so jarring to go back from Palutena and Lucina's great dash speeds and have Robin who basically has to shuffle their way across the stage at top speed. I know tacticians value intelligence, but there's no harm in a little athletics!

Good Sonics, ZSSs, Dededes, Yoshis, Marios, and Meta Knights are fucking horrifying as a Little Mac main. Wario was up there to, but lolgrabrelease.
Seriously, Dedede just flat out shuts Little Mac down. Super armor? Check. Gimping? Check. Range? Check. Projectile? Check. Good aerials? Check. Good recovery? Check. He's everything Little Mac struggles with in one character.

Wow, today either I was pretty bad at For Glory, or I got some pretty damn good opponents. The first one destroyed me with Link, the second had a very damn good Mario. The third did pretty well with Ike, although of the two matches we played I beat him once.

I noticed that I have a lot of trouble deciding when to dodge in place, shield or roll. I end up almost always rolling, and anyone good enough at punishing rolls always end up getting me. I'm personally pretty bad at punishing bad rolls too. I'm having trouble getting better at these two things.

Good Sonic's are so unpredictable it's not even funny.

I was faking out this Luigi so badly yesterday and annihilated him. I feel like Luigi got a harsh nerd. Hope I'm wrong.
