Character thoughts

When it comes to Mega Man, I just wish his pea shooter went a bit further. It can be useful and should be a really big part of his playstle, but it's pathetic range make it hard to be used consistently. I love playin him, but I would have so much more fun if it that just had a bit more range. Mega Man's all about that after all!

The upper hitboxes on DAir are pretty disappointing. They can still KO at higher percents but he doesn't have the nipple spike anymore. I've never noticed a weak hitbox on it either though.

I'd trade the nipple hitboxes for the consistency of his spike in Smash 4 any day honestly. I love when I go off stage I have two reliable devestating options, knee or spike.

You poor soul, streetpass is so fun!

Just bring your 3DS around with you in sleep-mode while wireless is on. Whenever you pass within 100 feet or so of another 3DS owner, all the games you have in common will exchange streetpass data.

Ah! So I can just put it in sleep mode then walk around in a department store or something and I'll magically have friends when I'm done?
Sweet.

Maybe its been a while since I played Brawl but I don't remember Kirby's B having so much lag on it.

Now it always feels risky for me to attempt to suck someone in because now if I time it wrong I'm going to get the crap punished out of me compared to Brawl where it seems like I was able to move quicker after stopping. Thank god he feels heavier now.

So why isn't anyone talking about the best character in the game?

Motherfucking
Duck Hunt Dog

He's actually pretty good. Has potential. I might legit use him as an alt lol

Maybe you had a good connection. Sonic is fucking ridiculous if there is lag.

Watched my brother play one that spammed forward be the entire fucking time and kept running away. Also, Sonic is definitely still the fastest if we're talking ground speed. Mac, Speed Shulk, Capt. Falcon, and Palutena are no slouches though.

I was talking about ground speed, if that were the case he should have caught up with Mac when he was chasing me, but he was going at about the same speed, which is why in the Palutena trailer she was able to catch up and pass Sonic. With all the buffs Palutena and Shulk DEFINITELY outrun him.

I love him. Everything about his fighting style clicks with me and he is really fun to use.

Also, am I the only one having a hard time choosing a character to main because there are so many really good ones? I constantly find myself switching between 7-8 characters online and there are more that I want to use but just haven't had the time to practice much with them yet.

Everybody has already. He's damn good.

His zoning is nuts. He controls the whole damn stage. Aerials and smash attacks are good too. I can see people being down right abusive with him

I'm confused about something.

If I pick a Mii, but have custom turned off, is that Mii still affected by it's badges, or does it strip it down to performance based on its Mii size and whichever specials you picked?

The only difference for Miis between customs on and off is equipment/badges. Custom size and moves still apply.

To be honest, I kind of wish Miis were treated the same as everyone else with customs off. So use their default moves and make their size always medium.

Ehm guys....

Do we need to clear Classic and All Star with Bowser Jr. and all the Koopalings to get the trophies?... Same question with characters with alts....

Kirby. Get to a side - fly up - down+B. They all follow you to that side and stay under you you... kill all 4 at once, they respawn, repeat. It's how I got 300 kills in Endless Smash too.

Greninja, spam up smash

thanks guys, I'll try those later =)

117 with dk

any particular strategy you're using?... I'm a fairly decent DK player, but I can't get past 90 KO's in this mode for some reason.

in the meanwhile, I tried it with Ike again, and the game is basically mocking me at this point:

I can't believe how consistently awful I am at this game. Keep getting my ass handed to me in For Glory matches. Still managing to have loads of fun though.

Yeah.. Personally I feel the entire customization features to be a big waste. Custom battles seem unfair if you don't have as expansive a collection of badges and what not as the person you're playing against, and that goes for any character's customization.

At best, customization diminishes the beauty of battling with predefined characters that can be anticipated and fought accordingly with skill.. At worst, customization has been an enormous time sink of a feature that resulted in a bunch of useless content that could have been something else instead.

Personally, I think they should have combined custom move development with alt costumes to create a larger diversity of characters with slightly different abilities.

Dr. Mario and Dark Part don't need to be consuming space on the character select screen. They're basically Mario/Pit with a custom move or two.. Now imagine all the available custom moves and how they could be applied to each character.. It'd really open things up and keep them predefined while giving fans of specific characters a lot of options to work with.

Olimar has Alph, right.. well why not Give Alph Rock Pikmin instead of purple or white. Throw Brittany and Charlie in there and give them slightly different moves too. I'm telling you, the recipe for this stuff is already in the game with custom movesets.. They just need to draw up some quick new character skins and assign the more appropriate moves to each alt.

I really enjoy collecting trophies in this game compared to Brawl. I do think it's a bit strange that the trophies don't tell you where the characters come from, though. Isn't that the point of them?

Does anyone have a list of stages that seem to minimize lag in FFA? I've noticed that Gaur Plains is pretty smooth online. Places with busy backgrounds, not so much.

You can organize them by series, so I assume that is why they do not tell you the game. It seems a bit odd how you do not have one page for a description and one for information.

Yeah, if I hadn't played Brawl I'd have no idea who "Barbara" is. It's a strange omission. I spent a few minutes searching for that feature before realizing it's been omitted.

That's something that I bet will resurface for Wii U.

mmm, you can organize them by series... that's "kinda" the same...

sadly, some trophies are lazily categorized into "other games" :(

I agree entirely, though I would have even been happy if just custom moves were in, since they seem pretty balanced and it would be easy enough to switch them out at the CSS. But stat-changing equipment just seems like a terrible, terrible idea for a fighting game, and I hate that the two are intertwined.
