Any somewhat proficient Little Mac players got any tips? Despite his KO meter and speed, it feels like the range on his normals lets people shit on me.

Figured I would post my thoughts after 8 hours

-Most of the new characters are unique and well designed. A few clones do not sour the experience (Dark Pit is my main)

-The game looks amazing on the 3DS. The 60fps really helps the game feel fast and responsive.

-Controls take some getting used to.

-Music/Sound Quality is excellent.

-**** Smash Run. Its an awful experience. Playing it feels pointless and its absolutely boring. This is a farcry from City Trial.

-Online for the most part works. Had some issues with lag which is weird since Mario Kart 7 had perfect and seamless online. A patch or two can hopefully fix these issues.

I give the game a 8/10

Its nowhere near the best game of the year (Shovel Knight and Dark Souls II) but its still very enjoyable.

Also holy shit, Pac-Man is amazing. I used to joke after he was revealed how he would be my "main", but I honestly think its true now that I've sunk a few hours into him. His smashes feel satisfying, and his side-special is insane. The amount of agile mobility it grants him is unmatched, and its incredibly satisfying to use well. I just love everything about how he feels

Smash Run was a lot of fun with people in the same room, but I can see how its boring with one person or playing online (is it even online?)

The thing with lag is that for a kart racer you can get away by compensating for a player's shaky connection by extrapolating his position on the server while a correct position is retrieved from the client. This way a player can lag a bit without it being a really noticeable for others. In smash though the gamestate has to be much more closely synced because of the nature of the gameplay.

Good games guys! Appreciate you dealing with my Robin, Mat; I know he's by far the worst character in my rotation, but I'm trying to work on him and you helped quite a bit.

Look forward to seeing you online again.

Thanks for posting that. I'm at work playing away on it now lol. The game looks better than the demo to me. Seems like more AA is applied. Anyone else notice?

Was great fun! You helped me work on my Little Mac a lot. I doofed up that last match pretty bad, but it was fun!

Can't wait to do it again sometime!

HAHAHA OH MY GOD.

I was just fighting a Greninja as Ike, and dude went out over the ledge after me...I did Aether and spiked his ass into oblivion. The best part? I was just hanging from the ledge and didn't even lose a stock. XD

I'm to the Smash Run hate club too. It's not really that bad but it's not one of my favourite mini games in Smash. It's quite long and the computer probably hates me as it's a climbing contest when my jumping skill sucks, a running contest when I'm slow and a fighting contest when I don't have any attacking power...

Man, I feel sad that I don't remember Smash having two jump buttons or had to be reminded of the basic essentials that this series also uses specials. For some reason, playing DK's specials suddennly sparked memory of playing him during Melee.

Yes, I did play Brawl but never as much as 1 or Melee.

God, I feel rusty. Felt rusty playing both versions during San Diego Comic Con and still feel rusty with these 3DS controls at my possession.

Man, I love this game.

First match I played online was me as Little Mac vs 3 other people.
I charged up my neutral B and when I unleashed it they all just walked into it one after the other.

So good.

How do you obtain new outfits ? I need 3 I think for unlocking my last challenge of the first 35 set, but I don't know how.

Thanks !
They count as customisation options so any mode where you can unlock custom parts i.e. Classic, Smash Rub etc, you can get outfits. As with the other custom parts it's just luck whether they are outfits or something else.

His biggest benefit is super armor on all of his smashes. If you can adjust to your opponent's pattern and read some of his/her moves, you can just tear through anything they throw at you. Throwing in some counters here and there is also helpful and a good way to scare off projectile spammers.

Let's play together sometime! :D

Just went 10/10 in for glory with my puff queen herself. Good god is she back and better than ever.

Finally got that room worked out with my sister, played an hour or so with her. For some reason deleting her friend card and readding it cleared it up. She's not much of a competitive player so it was great to play through all the items and laugh with each other.

Then played the next two hours with my little bro back home, who is as competitive as I am (specifically in Melee). Again, THE JIGGS IS BACK! Puff punching into rests, punishing missed techs into rest, it all feels so good. In a game where characters can live easily to 160, she's brutal with having KO at roughly 60 going for her.

Played a lot of shulk tonight too, really getting a feel for his monado. Speed (blue?) for approach, his fair cancels pretty quickly. Once they're up to 80%, switch to attack (red?) and up b. The second hit kills a lot on it.

Overall, some lag on 1v1 for glory, but the stuff with my siblings was perfect. Absolutely everything I wanted the game to be. Couldn't be more happy.

One of the things I find works well is bating out rolls and the like and punishing them with smash attacks. You can dash -> let the stick reset to normal -> forward smash pretty quickly with him too. May take a second to get used to, but bum rushing with his forward smash is a brutal weapon it seems to me.

So people playin Falco....what ya thinkin?

I really want him to be one of my mains in this game, but he just seems really... clunky. Doesn't seem to have great kill moves either. The best thing going that I can find for him is his bair.

People that are playin with him what's youre experience like?
