I have Wario and I don't even remember unlocking him.

I've only played regular matches, online and Classic (highest difficulty 3.1) about 4 times. I'm very confused.

Got my custom messages set up! Also turned off tap to jump. I was having a hard time figuring out how you were supposed to do an up tilt on the ground...

Hardest classic mode for me: Metaknight. He does NO damage. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but I beat him on like 6 (after dying over and over) with 14 seconds left.

So far the highest i'd gotten before 9.0 Bowser with no continues was 8.0 with Samus. Came close once but died and had to settle for 8.5 :/

Man my characters are so different and I keep trying to do things that were only acceptable on Brawl. I'm paying a hefty price.

Little Mac is that new character I just don't understand yet. I have a hard time beating them.

Same. Overcoming him and Luma damage blocking are my biggest match up problems so far.

You're still doing that? Jesus.

Forkball, MaskedMan, add me so we can play soon/eventually. I'm preparing some coffee for this all-nighter.

You don't tell me what to do.

I only have about 50 trophies on the US version, but I still noticed I have some that I don't have in my JPN copy where I've collected 450. If only there was some trophy trade system.

Literally, the last 7, or so, people I've fought have all been Little Mac, and it's difficult to get him into the air so I can actually deal with him, on For Glory.

All I can really do is spam dodge roll but that doesn't work forever.

Lol I can't play for 10 minutes because I disconnected from the last battle with Little Mac.

FML.

I had my perfect evening planned: Get home around 6 PM after work get some beers, remove pants, order a pizza, get some bros, play the shit out of Smash until the sun rises.

but now my GF just texted me to tell me that we have tickets for the ballet at 7 PM.
fucking. ballet.

Damn Shulk is one frustrating opponent. His range and attack power are just too much. That one good opponent I played just destroyed me 9 times out of 10 lol

I need to learn how to play with Megaman better. I know hes a range character for the most part, but I still got beat up one on one (for glory) by a Toon Link.

It would be nice if I could fight someone who isn't Little Mac online, he's ridiculously OP in For Glory mode.

It's funny because Little Macs were so terrible the first week or so of the Japanese release because no one knew how to play him. Now that people have figured him out, he's wrecking. He's really great for four player matches too.

Here's the thing. The 3DS fits in your pocket...

This reminds me of that Simpsons episode when Marge wanted to take Homer to the ballet...

hahaha, nice.

Megaman is also great in aerial game, his back aerial and meteor smash are particularly OP.

and the up aerial is great to piss people off :P

Yeah I was just fine when its more than 1 v 1 lol. I still need to get used to actually being able to pull off his uppercut too. No tap jump is a godsend. I did KO him with his back aerial, so that was nice.

how do i unlock regular link, is the new 3DS XL more comfortable for smash then the regular XL? god damn it this is probably the only game that would get me to buy another 3DS. I can't get use to the circle pad and dashing on it, just feels weird letting it go vs analog stick on gamecube controller.

That's the same I'm going to do! How peculiar.

Settle it in Smash with her. :P

Bad joke.

Any Europeans want to try playing a few rounds? I want to see if it's actually properly playable.

Good thing the 3DS is portable, lol

How the hell do you unlock Jigglypuff?

I beat classic at 7.0 and it gave me nothing.

120 matches.

I've made a disturbing observation regarding adapting to Smash 4's 3DS controls. Anyone who has played a lot of the demo or full game might be able to corroborate.

So, most acknowledge that it's hard to do tilt/strong attacks with the circle pad. An analog stick affords a centimeter of extra fidelity which makes differentiating between basic/strong/smash a cinch. In the early goings on the 3DS, there are generally a lot of accidental smashes where the player actually intended a strong/tilt.

After hours and hours of play, though, you do acclimate to the circle pad and the tiny raccoon finger level of precision that it requires.

Smash players who are weak of heart may want to avoid this next distressing detail: after playing about two weeks of demo, my friends and I returned to Project M to give a few characters their farewells. And for quite a few matches, we couldn't smash reliably. Everything came out strong. Pushing the GCN's massive control pillar was a feat we could hardly imagine Samson pulling off. Our tiny raccoon hands had become so finely tuned to the awful circle pad that I was forced to envision a future where I willingly use my 3DS as a controller on Wii U.

I do have good news for anyone else ravaged by the sadistic whims of the circle pad: rehabilitation is possible. After a twenty minutes of warm-up, we began to smash again.

I don't want to become that monster ever again. I'm a human being, with inalienable rights.

But I'm in the throes of the full game and can feel the change overtaking me again. I'm frightened.

tl;dr 3DS has shitty controls that you get accustomed to and it ruins everything else
