It is mostly the fact that it has been years since Melee has come out for me personally. Not that I hated Brawl, but I did forget about it pretty quickly. The Wii to me was Nintendo's rough patch. If the demo was bad, then I would not be dreading the wait. Two more days though!

Amazon seems to be totally sold out on Smash Bros 3DS.
A friend of mine pre-ordered this game two weeks ago, yesterday he got an e-mail saying the game won't be delivered on time.

It's awesome/terrible. Awesorrible. Terrisome. Whatever you call it, it's at least interesting. Wanna see them sales numbers, yo!

Hm, that's really worrying.

I pre-ordered it back in March, and it seems adamant it's going to arrive on time, but still.

It's amazing to see it's selling like hotcakes even pre-release, but man, I just need to see that shipping status change to at least "preparing for dispatch", so I can calm down. :/

BTW guys, this game has a day 1 patch which you have to download on the eShop before you start the game.
Just in case you didn't know.

Online mode exploded here in Germany since retailers broke street date. In other news: Netflix HD + Smash on DSL 16.000 is not a great idea.

I am a bit gutted I didn't get mine today. I think it'll come tomorrow, and luckily I'm still immersed kn Hyrule Warriors which is eating up a lot of my free time so I should survive.
 
It's time for FORKSMASH VOLUME SIX: THE FINAL CHAPTER. My quest to play everyone in 1v1 For Glory all against different people. The last few stragglers are third party characters and a guy who almost didn't even come to America and when he did, he just saw Gamestop and called it quits.

Shulk vs. Wario

A VISION. Shulk is kind of a boring character, but his buffs are remarkable to say the least. I switched to the damage buff to get the early lead. Wario wasn't landing many hits, but I did fall into his grabs too often. When Wario got above 70%, I decided to switch to the smash buff to try and secure a KO. The smash buff also significantly decreases your defense when it comes to knockback, so you can easily damn yourself to a foolish defeat if you don't utilize it right, which I almost did. Wario got in some good smacks and was throwing me off the stage, but a smart counter KO'd him. I SEE IT. I switched to my defensive mode, but I couldn't hurt Wario too much before I fell to my death. The second stock was pretty similar to the first, with both of us landing in some big hits, but I managed to counter him again to win the fight. A VISION. Winner: Shulk

Pac-Man vs. Lucario

Lucario's stupid fucking aura. How is this shit fair? I was wrecking him the entire match, but once his damage got high enough there was nothing I could do. I smashed the living hell out of him so many times but the blast boxes are so humongous that it was like trying to throw a baseball over the grand canyon. Fuck Lucario. Winner: Lucario

Mega Man vs. Greninja

Ok, my plan is to use the exact same strategy that was used on me when I fought Mega Man earlier: spam metal blade and running tornado. IT WORKED. I had a few crash bomber accidents and ran into some counters, but he was so flustered the entire match that I got in so many cheap shots. MEGA JERK. Winner: Mega Man

Sonic vs. Dark Pit

You're. Too. Slow. Dark Pit didn't even KO me. Do you have an idea how satisfying it is to end off this experiment with a victory over Dark Pit? It made all the blood, sweat, and tears worth it. Winner: Sonic.

Well I did it, I played every character online in 1v1. Some great matches, some awful matches, some matches where I threw myself off the stage... it's all part of the game. STATS.

Random observations: Boy, Final Destination sure is boring. I really feel that some characters are lose some of their advantages on this map. If all of these bouts were on battlefield, I think they would have been far more interesting and dynamic. Though the matches were often uneven as I was picking a character I barely knew vs. their diehard main, I still feel like I learned a lot about who I was using and who I was fighting against. I started to use opponent's strategies throughout the experiment with varying results. Also it's invigorating to beat someone with a character you barely know.

Back to For Fun mode for me.
 
The fun thing about it being released in a new region is all the new people picking characters that they think are too OP for other new people to deal with, only to have their shit wrecked before rage quitting.

Also, all the new little mac players who just don't know what they're in for.

The last 7 people I've played were a "one and done" kind of deal haha.
 
The only game I ever got early was TMNT Smash Up when Best Buy released it a day early. I got the wrong "Smash" game early. Just planning on downloading tomorrow night.

Never heard of this site and good god is the layout horrible (or maybe I should say sterile). Well if you've had good experiences with them I may consider them in the future as that's the best price I've seen for Smash.

Oh it was soooo goood that I bought another one next door, grounded it into a powder that I mixed up with lots of Mtn Dew and Doritos and I smeared it all over my body so that I can be with it forever because I'm never going to shower ever again!

Seriously though, I only played it for ~20 minutes. In these 20 minutes I played 4 matches online in For Glory mode with Villager against someone with a Greninja and it was awesome. Netcode is WAAAAAAAAAY better than Brawl, but that shouldn't come as a surprise.
I didn't have any lag, though. I mean, really, no input lag, no output lag, nothing I normally experience in regular fighting games like Skullgirls, MvC3 or Street Fighter 4.
Just a little bit of stuttering at the beginning of the battle, but that corrected itself pretty quickly.
