Granted youtube compression is crap, but am I the only one who didnt find these 2 gameplay vids particularly impressive?

They look good, but atleast what i saw was quite worse than the most recent realtime trailer we had last week.

The only "damage" that we've seen so far is some crappy paint scraping.

We've seen the driver side window get cracked as well.

The damage was always been minimal/non-existent. Before Slair mentioned I had forgotten about windows cracking.

Reminds me so much of a next-gen Horizon in that video.

I think Sony have their version of Horizon with this, even if it's not open world. It will fill that gap for those that only have a PS4.

They're drifting a Zonda R in that video like it's nothing. That car is meant to stick to the road like glue.

I wrote that comment having only seen the first video, after watching the second video now I'm even more excited. It didn't matter to me what style of racer it is, I would still enjoy the hell out of the game. I just want more good arcade racers, I feel Racing sims are already covered well with GT and Forza. Project Cars looks very interesting too!

The environments look really good, great in fact, and the lighting is excellent, but that has to be some of the worst youtube compression I have seen. What are they thinking only releasing stuff with stinking youtube quality? I really dislike this trend for next gen games.

Racing games are the worst possible type of footage to compress, since basically each frame is very very much different from the one before, so there is very little the codec can optimize and it comes down to just huge macroblocks just to stay inside the bitrate required for the final video.
As for getting these videos on Gamersyde, this is an exclusive for IGN, so there is absolutely no point in asking. It might be a time exclusive, in that case maybe or maybe not we'll get them, or it's a full exclusive and it will stay on Youtube forever. One way or another, there is no point annoying Sony or Rushy about it.

Nah I certainly wouldn't bother Rushy or anyone about it. Just a shame IGN don't have a better means of delivering the vids

Evolution are ridiculous to give IGN and exclusive on this. The youtube compression does the game no favours. If it actually look like this, I could almost mistake it for a PS3 game, given how washed out the textures come out in the video. Obviously I am aware it looks very good in pristine HD footage, but this is poor, and sadly seems to be in keeping with Driveclubs woeful marketing.
