HA! While you were busy talking about stands I secretly made you realize that stand fights are basically just homoerotic Pokemon battles and that watching me, Joseph, use wits and advanced planning to win with my own strength is totally superior!
I only got into Jojo not that long ago, but I really enjoyed Part 1 and 2. I am not much of a fan of stands though... some of the designs and uniqueness of them are cool I guess.
But, the Ripple was boring. Why did people like it so much?
It was magic kung fu that let you shatter rocks under frogs without killing the frogs and allow you to launch yourself into the sky from a sitting position.
I think this is how most people feel about Stands at the beginning. It takes some time, but Stands become so much more interesting and awesome.
It's not the Ripple that I like about part 1 and (especially) part 2. For part 2 at least it's that Jojo is always planning ahead and using every resource and his environment and stuff that sometimes has nothing to do with Ripple. I know that stand users use it too some, but their planning ahead and stuff is just so they have an opening to use their stand.
It's just like... Joseph is fighting a dude. Oh snap. I have no idea what's going to happen.
A stand guy is fighting. Not sure how he'll get there but I'll bet he'll hit the other guy with his stand powers. Yep. He did.

It's just gonna get more and more crazy. One of my favorite battles throughout the entire series should actually be in 2 or 3 episodes.Episode 5 was great, best episode so far. The last few were good but lacked a certain oomph from Battle Tendency. It had the first really good battle and the characters are starting to grow on me. Nice seeing the different uses for Stands as well. I'm sure the author will manage to get as much battle variety as there was earlier!
Lol. Stands eventually get so fucking ridiculous that you'll start to wonder if anything makes sense anymore.
Spoilers! Is a descendant of the Zeppeli family featured in this section of the story?
Fabulous!Started reading the manga from part 1 again.
Men are drawn so gorgeously that I don't know what to do with myself. They are masculine and feminine at the same time.

I'm... confuesed.
For all the hate/indifference Phantom Blood gets, I just rewatched the first episode and it's still the best/most fun part for drama. It actually got progressively more boring as it started to focus on the shounen stuff. It works as a -admittedly over-the-top- drama better than the rest of the arc or arc 2 and 3 as far as I'm concerned.
I mean you just get a twisted, sly, evil guy who gets everyone to gang up on the gentleman protagonist, steals said protagonist's girlfriend's first kiss and kills his dog in a furnace, all in the same episode. If that doesn't mae you emotionally invested, I don't know what does.

That's because Araki mostly used fashion magazines and fashion illustrations to draw those poses:
Fun fact of the day. Jotaro was modeled after Clint Eastwood. Araki is a huuuuge Westaboo. He even got to meet with Clint Eastwood.
Phantom Blood is fantastic. It's just inferior to the latter parts by default (because they're really good too). It also doesn't have anything that makes it super unique like Stands do in the latter parts. For all the hate/indifference Phantom Blood gets, I just rewatched the first episode and it's still the best/most fun part for drama. I sort of wonder if Strazio may be the dumbest character in the Jojo series just for that name alone. Not even the engrish excuse can save it.Its only Straights who calls it that in part 2.
I KNOW BUT DIO HAD IT MASTEREDIts only Straights who calls it that in part 2.

Well, it seems like it sold enough to add animation to Stardust Crusader.I KNEW he took those from fashion magazines/photoshoots. The poses looked really similar to the artsy stuff you find in Vogue magazine.
Finished part 1 and currently watching part 2 with 3. Seems like I will wait for part 3 BD. Oh man, the art in part 2 is so so good. I think it is even better than part 3.
I really hope this budget is maintained for all the JoJo Parts. How are the DVD/BD sales? They good enough to warrant more budget for the upcoming parts?
Well, it seems like it sold enough to add animation to Stardust Crusader.
I was joking about the first season of the anime having lackluster animation and often delving into motion-comic territory while Stardust Crusader has proper animation for the five episode that have been aired. What do you mean by adding animation? Also, I remember them mentioning that they will animate all the parts, that true?

Hopefully they'll animate the whole thing but that depends on the series beeing succesful in the long run.
JoJo is highly succesful as a manga, so I won't be surprised if the anime also does well. Currently watching season 1 BD, and the animation is some of the best I have ever seen in all my years of watching anime. Completely in love.
But, the Ripple was boring. Why did people like it so much?
One of the things that I find the most awkward looking is seeing something like Star Platinum punch the shit out of some stand or whatever while Jotaro is just there motionless with his hands in his pockets. I just find that to look really boring.
I guess I wish ripple use wasn't apparently completely abandoned in favor of stands. It was cool to see Joseph eliminate the flesh bud with a ripple; he seems like the kind of person who would rant about the good old days when people didn't have these stand things.
