Gamarket...
Similar, but separate from the world known as Gamindustri...

Neptune, also known as Purple Heart, guards the nation of Planeptune.
Blanc, also known as White Heart, guards the nation of Lowee.
Vert, also known as Green Heart, guards the nation of Leanbox.
Noire, also known as Black Heart, guards the nation of Lastation.

In order to unite the nations of this world, the four CPUs (Console Patron Units) compete with one another and fight for supremacy.

Right before Noire attains her ambition for a united Gamarket under Lastation’s rule, someone cuts off the source of the four CPUs’ powers – their Shares.

To save their world, which has been thrust into a state of chaos, the CPUs decide to join forces in order to bring Gamarket together under one single, unified banner.

But what role will Noire play in this brand-new adventure...?

LILY BOOST
If ally characters are placed adjacent to one another during battle, Lily Boost will activate when you use a Skill or a Special Move. When allies peck a friend on the cheek, the damage dealt through Skills or Special Moves increase while also decreasing the cost to use them!

HDD
The CPUs, including Noire, can activate HDD by spending 30 Lily Points!

LILY RANK
As you continue to activate Lily Boost, the Lily Rank between
characters will rise.

When the Lily Rank reaches a certain threshold, sub-events may become available!

Looks pretty great actually. Hopefully my LE arrives on time, I think the others all have so far. I hope the complaints of Noire being out of character in the Japanese version were tweaked a bit by IFI.

Also I'll miss the Victory designs, I love Victory Noire's outfit.

Man, I'm excited for this since I enjoyed Re:Birth 1 and I love SRPGs but I still need to get Re;Birth 2. And I'm kinda torn between sticking to the Vita versions or jumping ship to Steam. :/

I really want the resolution and framerate bumps but I'd prefer keeping the series on one platform. So, I'm really tempted to just hold off in case they start porting the spin-offs as well. Have there been any indications that this and the other action game (Neptunia U, I think?) might get the same treatment? I know Re;Birth 1 and 2 were known to be rated for PC months before the ports were even announced.

A few weeks ago, I made this thread http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=985685 stating that the ESRB rated Hyperdevotion Noire for PC. Although nothing is guaranteed, it's a good sign.

I forgot this was coming out, damn. So many Nepu games in such a short time!

I wonder if there's a chance of a PC release like with the Rebirth games.

Edit: lol

We should just put "No it's not on PC yet" in every Neptunia OT for a while I guess...

That does seem like info that could be useful to have in the OP, to be honest. I looked and didn't see any, so I figured I'd just ask. I wasn't trying to shit up the thread or anything. Just having something like "potentially PC" listed with the platforms would probably help prevent people from repeatedly asking like is already happening.

I can figure out the walking references to Metal Gear, Dragen Quest and Street Fighter, but the rest elude me...
Looks like Tekken-chan was a one-time thing too...

This SRPG is developed by Sting (Gungnir, Yggdra Union, Knights in Nightmare, Tears to Tiara II) so the gameplay should be decent at least.

I did not know this. Those games are really good SRPGs, so my interest has shot up with this game. Screenshots look good, too.

I never understood this game .... are EVERY character a personification of a console ?

No, the main characters (CPUs) are home consoles, the "little sisters" (CPU canidates) are portable consoles, Makers are representatives of companies (5pb, Cave, Konami etc), and random other characters are also references to assorted companies, video game characters, brands, whatever. The better your knowledge of games and relevant companies, especially Japanese, the more you'll understand and get out of the jokes.

Enemies are all also representative of games, often knockoffs of enemies or something more conceptual, including tetris blocks, dating sims, mario pipes.

Trying a bit too hard

unfortunately it seems impressions were rather lukewarm. I'm definitely holding out.

Gameplay was ok but nothing really to write home about. That and the lily system was a bit irritating to use. As you need to keep your characters next to each other a lot.

Though the story and characters were great as expected. So its quite the hard choice.

Just got my shipping notice from Iffy's for the LE.

I did too. I'm excited. :D

anybody kind enough to post which company/gameseries/ these new gals represent?

From this thread:

Estelle is Dragon Quest.

Lady Wak is Pac-Man.

Ryuka is Yakuza.

Moru is from Monster Hunter.

Sango is Dynasty Warriors.

Tsunemi is Project Diva, Hatsune miku, whatever

Saori is Takomeki Memorial, a dating sim apparently.

Win is Pro Evolution Soccer.

Ain Al is Final Fantasy.

Resta is Agarest War.

Ai Masujima is Idolmaster.

Vio is Resident Evil.

Blossa Aisen is Sakura Wars.

Generia G. is Gundam Generations.

Poona is Opoona.

Little Rain is Neverland, whatever that is.

Lol

aren't OT's supposed to be a day before release too?

Generally can be a day or two before release. But with the new rules & regs anything earlier than that is not recommended unless there is a special circumstance where said OT is unable to be put up on those days and needs to be released earlier.

I believe I fucked up.

Most folks that do gaming related OTs hang around that OT thread Nemesis_ has set up that way people dont step on each others toes and such. Its updated often enough so that the list itself should be pretty accurate. If all else fails a quick search on the thread works too. Mods have not stepped in all this time to really regulate things as the community for the most part does a fairly good job with it.

Accidents happen, but in the future would be appreciated if you report in at the OT thread linked below. :)

My collectors edition copy will be here Saturday. Won't be starting this for a few weeks/month though as trying to clear other backlog titles first.

Not usually an srpg fan but loved the characters and story of rebirth 1 so couldn't ignore this.

Also got a shipping confirmation for my LE. Arriving this Saturday. I still need to play rebirth 2 been procrastinating on starting that game.

For me I just finished rebirth so need a break between games especially because the engines are going to be extremely similar in the rebirth titles. I'll probably go rebirth>noire>rebirth 2 >neptunia u>rebirth 3

Holy shit. I completely forgot this was even coming out.

I'm torn between this and UniB now though

Also Noire is getting a lot of friendly love in those pics
I thought she had no friends...?

Preordered since I like SRPGs, Chibi, Neptunia. As for Sting; Riviera was good, but I felt their other games were needlessly contrived, and there's no awesome art by Satoko Kiyuduki this time.

If there are hints this is coming to PC, I think I'll wait for that. March is packed with enough games that I don't have time to play as it is.

Oh, this is early. Well, if it interests anyone, review copies are already out. Saw some footage through a friend. Maybe the local reviewers here can say something.

But in the meantime, all I can say is... man my expectations are kinda shot. Sorry for you guys. Hope you like it though.

Also note that the ESRB PC rating was followed by backlash then a statement by IFI going "No plans for PC at the moment". They basically said the same thing for RB1 and that came out around...7 or so months after the ESRB rating.

This is how I feel about any SRPG. I'll give it a chance. Just hope it is a challenging game that rewards skill instead of just overleveling.
I just wanna mention but don't expect Sting's usual obtuse or over the top gimmicks is all.
