So late summer/fall 2015 in NA? They really should move this to PS4..

Well they said that we would get it the same year it comes out in Japan.
Of course releaing a Ps3 only title in the west Fall 2015 is a suicide, sales wise.
 
well i guess that's what Namco meant when they said it'd come out here the same year that it came out in Japan
 
Somehow this is sooner than I expected, even for its Japanese release.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing it as early as Summer 2015 outside of Japan.

Oh wow but it's probably true. This game seems more like a Graces team game so good gameplay, shit story and characters. If that would turn out to be the case I won't like it just as I didn't like Graces :(.
 
I would import if it wasn't releasing in the same year.

I don't think they handle the development like that anymore.

There is no "Graces team" (Team Destiny) anymore. Zestiria is being developed by the main Tales team now which also did Xillia 1 and 2. It has the main writer from Xillia 2 and another Team Symphonia (which also doesn't exist anymore) guy.

Yep. Bring Graces combat designers and Xillia 2 writer (I'm at chapter 8 but so far I think it's really well executed) and they'll have a really good game in their hands.

Keep character chapters too. They were a really nice idea.

Yeah, August again seems a fair bet for us. NB seems to like that window for these games for some reason.

In some site's interview Hideo Baba supposedly claimed that they were in the early stages for a PS4 Tales, but the site later retracted it (he never said this in any other interview so it was most likely made up).
 
I too think they should make a PS4 port, especially for the West, where they've been looking at lately.

Agree. Vesperia if you have a 360 and Xillia otherwise. Both are great entry points but Vesperia's system is a bit more simple while Xillia takes Vesp battle systems while adding some new elements and some stuff for Graces (which is quite bad as an entry point due to the awful story and characters).

Don't you think Zestiria itself will be a good entry point?

I sure hope so myself because i haven't played a Tales game since Phantasia on GBA (yeah i know that was a bad port) but i like everything i've seen from Zestiria so far.
 
I have so many Tales game I haven't played yet.

Symphonia
Graces
Hearts
Xillia 1
Xillia 2

(oh and Vesperia but that's going to be my play it in Japanese project at some point in the future)

Maybe by the time Zestiria comes out I'll have Hearts and Symphinia done but more likely only one of them. :) Ah well, just means I'll be using my PS3 for years to come.
 
I was kinda bummed that they didn't announce a PS4 version at the Sony event like Persona 5.

NamcoBandai have been doing pretty well with releasing Tales in the West since Graces f and from what they've said they are pretty happy with how sales are going. However I feel that a PS3 only releasing by mid-2015 (or later) is going to knock back some of that momentum.

Edit: I can see why they wouldn't think that a PS4 version is needed for Japan though. Persona has a more prominent Western audience that they need to take into consideration during development than Tales.

I would've liked for the game to be out before the year's end but I guess end of January isn't THAT bad either. Gives me time to try to platinum before Bloodborne.
 
I was expecting this game in 2016 to be honest so summer 2015 is Okay with me .
One tales per year is okay with me :)

I'm thinking it might come to PS4 in the future with additional content, unless they decide to announce multiplatform release at TGS out of the blue.
 
My head says there will be a PS4 port of this game. Ideally day and date, but probably a while after with extras. I'm still unsure whether to get this on PS3 or hold off for a little while
