CONTEST:

At 75% off in the Summer Steam Sale, I picked up three extra copies (now eight extra copies) to give away here.

This bundle includes the best version of PAC-MAN out there, plus all of the DLC. I just started playing my own copy the other night -- it's amazing! A good run is mesmerizing to behold...

RULES

This is in honor of Pac-Man in Smash Bros. If you want a copy, just say so and share a quick thought or two on Pac-Man as a newcomer. Love him, hate him -- it's all fair game. :-)

I'll then get in touch with you by PM to send you your copy via Steam. Thanks!

I'm excited, as I've felt it's been a long time coming. I love the fact that he goes into his retro form.

I also find it amusing they're doing it better justice than Namco has been. :| Also, I'd like a copy please! If I could be honored. :)

I want a copy. Really think they did an amazing job making Pacman a love letter to his series and old school arcade games. Plus he looks so damn happy!

I'm in. Grew up playing Pacman at the local laundromat, which is still there, no games anymore. I was too short to see the screen proper. I wasn't tall enough to go on most carnival rides until I was like 16, to give you an idea.

Never any good though. I'm not good at... games that require actual skill.

I didn't want pac man in the game at first but after seeing his trailer I'm quite excited to play as him. I'll probably end up using him on my 3rd match after pika and greninja(also pac man pls :P)

I love the PAC Man World Series a lot. I wish Ghostly Adventures was PAC Man world 4. :(

PAC looks fun as a character.
I want a copy pls :)

I would love a copy :)

Pac-Man as a newcomer could be really interesting, and I hope he's a speedy character. I'm really glad they went with his classic design rather than that monstrosity that exists now.

I hope he eats everyone for his final smash, and something special happens when he gobbles up food items. Will have fun messing around with him in Smash 4!

Pac-Man is the greatest analogy to obesity problems in first world countries. Everyone should play it.

That being said, I'd love a copy.

I was a kid admits the PAC man hype. Had the boardgame, shirts, tabletop arcade.... even a coin purse. I even convinced myself the cartoon was good. I drank that kool-aid hard.

I wouldn't mind a copy! I played this game a shit ton on 360 awhile ago.

I'm also super excited about having him in Smash. Just the thought of having Mario, Sonic, Pac-Man and Mega Man in the same game is nuts in itself.

I would like that game please and thank you!

Pac-Man CE was the sole reason I bought an Xbox 360, which I promptly sold after it came to PS3/PSP. I love that game, and I'm glad to see Pac is getting a traditional look in Smash Bros! Respect the Pac!

This game looks so amazing it borders on disgusting. Holy cow. I would love to play this! I fondly remember the first time I played Pac-man with my dad. Such good times.

Paccu Paccu, Sonic, Mario and Mega Man all in the same game? Beating the crap out of each other? IT'S A DREAM COME TRUE!

My only hope is that they give him the right music, I've played like 5 minutes of Pac Man CE on my bros PS3 and the sounds took me back to a better time.

I'd love a copy Neiteio :D

I was initially opposed to his inclusion, as it felt a bit trite & I feared it'd be the newer cartoon incarnation. I got Dante/PlayStation all stars flashbacks. But his design is a real loving tribute - and his moves look very unique. No clue how he plays, which is exciting in its own right.

One of the best games of the 360/PS3 gen. Be warned, this game is all about obsessively replaying the courses to maximize your score or lower your times.

First time I played Pac-Man was with my father as a child in a laundromat waiting for clothes to dry in South Philly. He let me go first and of course I died easily. He hopped on and was a machine lol. It's one of the fondest memories I have of my father.

I'd like a copy. :)

I'd love a copy.

I'm not technically a "newcomer". My first memory of playing pac-man was on some TexAs Instruments set-top box that plugged into the TV and ran Atari games. I played the crap out of that that with my sister in the early 80s, before Nintendo.

I love that he like Game and Watch so far comes off as loving tributes to their respective eras/platforms (game and watch and namco arcade games of yore)

would love a copy but this is really cool of you regardless

Waka waka waka

Those are my thoughts

Gibe copy plos

Now seriously, it's surprising that this game hasn't gotten old, all these years and is as entertaining as the first day. And it 's simple as fuck.

Played the game and I love it but of course I don't own it. So yes, I would like it. Played Pac-Man for the first time on Genisis and loved it since.
It was actually Ms. Pac-Man.

One of the things I thought of when they announced Pac-Man for Smash was how awesome it'll be if the Championship Edition music is in included in Smash.

The music in that game is hype as fuck. Fighting with it in the background would be so awesome.

I'm in! As for thoughts on Pac Man in Smash...he eats dots and doesn't afraid of anything.

Ok, I'll go in my corner now

Haha, I haven't played this since it came out, but I just checked the Steam version and I'm still #1 for the time trials. I hope no one beats my times or I may get sucked back in again.

My girlfriend's favorite game is Pac-Land on C64, I'm a huge Mario fan, my brother is really obsessed with Sonic games and my best friend speedruns Mega Man games on a regular basis. So my thoughts on his inclusion is that my whole family and friends situation is gonna be at war as soon as this game hits. We all got our childhood pride at stake now.

I think it's awesome that Pacman still holds up as a videogame icon. I remember eating pacman cereal back in the 80's.

I would love a copy of this game!

Pac-Man is a great addition. Long history with Nintendo, he even got a Miyamoto game - he's essential.

All I want is some Pac-Panic music.

Well, I'm giving away six copies now -- I'm trying to figure out who followed the rules "best" for the first three, and the other three I'll just give away for nice posts.

Definitely won't be able to satisfy all of the demand here. I wish I was made of money. :-\

Hopefully some other people will pitch in and spread the Pac-Man love. :-)

I'll be contacting the winners soon...

Pretty please. :)

First time I played Pac Man was on this!

I love that he is in Smash now. Can't wait to Waka Waka over everyone online.

Sweet giveaway!

I love Pacman and have been playing the various Pac games since the original way back circa 1980. Yes, I'm kinda old now. :-)

I would especially like to have this version because my wife and I could enjoy it together, although she's way better at Pacman than me.

Free Shit! sign me up.

not sure if people have picked up on it but the design Sora chose to use for pacman is probably as close to perfect as you could get.

I would like a copy please. :) Just excited that pac man is in the game. It will be my first smash bros game. I cant pass up a pacman vs megaman vs sonic vs mario match.

I fucking love Pacman, ill take 3 copys!

But I really do love pacman especially ms. pacman.

Oh and he's going to be my main alongside Megaman.

Pac-Man is the greatest analogy to obesity problems in first world countries. Everyone should play it.

That being said, I'd love a copy.

THIS made my day.... well said...

I'd love a copy.. my thoughts about it in smash? well I got one of the very few nostalgia feelings when I saw all those sprites from its attacks, I mean, there are LOTS of old school games in those attacks, galaga, dig dug, xevious, pacman world.. such goodness that I reconsidered it being a bad addition..

Pac-Man in German is Päck-Mann, which translates to "Baggage-man". That's all.

It was the first game my dad bought me after gaining visitation rights, since he heard I was into this kind of stuff.

We went to his apartment and played it all night on his Atari 2600, which was then sent home with me (my first console).

Today we are closer than I could ever ask for and it started with the pill munching dynamo

One of the most amazing things I discovered about Pac-man was when my colleague, the artist Lourdes Nicolich, told me that the mechanics from Nintendo Land's minigame Luigi's Ghost Mansion (which I love!) were first saw on a mini-game called Pac-Man Vs, and this was part of R: Racing Revolution for the Gamecube.

Luigi's Ghost Mansion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-M9nRNvrNA

"That kind of gameplay is not so innovative, it looks really similar to what had been implemented for Pac-Man Vs., a mini-game launched in 2003 that was included as part of Namco's R: Racing Evolution. Three players were controlling ghosts, that could only view a limited part of the map, and the fourth player was Pac-Man, that was controlled using the Game Boy Advance handheld. Pac-Man's goal is the classic one, to eat all the pills and also defeat ghosts on its way before he could be captured."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9qthavqEFk

So there was a clear similarity between both games, and that's not something that should surprise us, since the game designer was nothing less than Shigeru Miyamoto himself!"

It is so cool to see a classic character taking part in so innovative games that, and that innovation came from out of the company, nothing less than Miyamoto! Since I knew then I'm really interested in playing the last big Pac-Man game :)

Pac Man is the only other gaming character other than Mario and the Wii series to bring our family together for a good laugh with video games through classics such as the original arcade game, Ms Pac Man and the incredibly addictive Pac Attack. Nintendo do a fantastic job in local multiplayer and are incredibly hard to be beaten, for Namco to be the only company to achieve it to their level shows their importance to us.

Having him in Smash Bros alongside Mario and Sonic is nothing short of incredible since I grew up with each of them (only started playing Mega Man recently) and are responsible for many happy memories. It is a truly amazing moment for me.

Occasionally I'll find one of his games and spend a bit of time playing them.

EDIT: a copy of this game would add to the moment of the treat Nintendo and Namco (ironic both companies who are making smash bros are the ones responsible for the best family gaming moments), but not for me. As a gift for my brother to play on his laptop when away on holiday.

And mate this is incredibly generous of you, very kind move. Wish I mentioned this already in my post above.

Woah Neiteio, you feeling generous, friend? :P

If you're up to give me a copy, cool, do want because I always loved Pac-Man! The game looks really awesome.

I have tons of memories playing Pac-Man with mith mother (Well, Ms. Pac-Man more than anything, haha), maybe she would like to try this one! :D

I'd be interested in a copy :D

Ever since he was rumoured I've envisioned Pac-Man as my new main, mostly due to his obvious and brilliant sounding Final Smash. There's something unknowingly adorable about Pac-Man reverting to his legless, faceless self to move for some attacks.

Awesome giveaway. I would like a copy.

I think Pac-Man is an interesting, but appropriate addition to Smash Bros. since he will be another one of those "how can this character be in a fighting game? characters. Pretty much like most of the cast.

Pacman is kinda weird, at first I didn't quite understand why people would want him as a newcomer. He was definately a character I never knew I wanted. I mean outside of the original and Championship edition Pacman has been in quite lackluster games, entertaining but lackluster. His Smash appearance however looks awesome. His stages, his theme, his final smash and his moveset are all just perfectly done by the Smash team. I can't wait to play as him.

I'd love a copy if possible thanks!
