BritGAF Meetup X - Sat 28th June

The time has come. Meetup number 10!

We tried moving north, but nobody turned up, so we're returning to our old stomping ground, the majestic city of London!


We'll be starting at about lunchtime in Regent's Park, then moving onto Big Red for some beverages & dinner, then rounding the night off somewhere in Camden with loud music & expensive drinks.
BritGAF meets are probably the most fun you'll ever get the chance of having. Fantastic people, hopefully lovely weather & a good chance to see the faces behind the avatars you know so well.

Fresh faces more than welcome - come along even if you're not quite sure about it - I don't think anyone has turned up and not had a great time.

Before anyone worries, Musha_Soturi will indeed be organising the meet, I'm just posting the thread because she's on a time out after a brief period of naughtiness.

I'll definitely try to make this, last summer's meet was amazeballs! There is a fairly strong chance I could be busy though.

Fuck it, I might just book train tickets today and tell everyone else to fuck off.

She knows better than most that I wake up quite late in the afternoon when on nights! I might be able to swing by for a swift half on the way to work though so I'll keep an eye on the thread to see where people will be at what time.
 
Was planning on going to the Goodwood Festival of Speed either that day or Sunday.

Might have to just come hang out for a little bit and leave early this time. So....maybe, I guess. :(
 
Last time I went to one of these was cool. No guarantees, but I'll try to go to this one too.

is there going to be an MCM mini-meet?
 
I think I could make this. Beware though, there might be lots of Wolfenstein TNO gushing. You guys usually (from the one meetup I attended) aren't into videogames that much :P

I hear what you're saying about the modern Rockstar games, they seem to want believe animation and physical consequence over pad response. They just love that Euphoria animation system, got to guess it's a big part of the laggy controls.

And Superhot looks amazing. Such a clever concept.

Hah, don't want to fall for this bait but only human. Game was quite easy. Played to the last terrible boss on Hard, tried to use as little cover as possible (Airport is the only good level for avoiding cover) but the game's level design is based around it unlike Stranglehold (much more fun, just finished it a few days ago) or Sleeping Dogs or previous MP games. If it wasn't, there would be a way to disable the mechanic for the hardest difficulty or penalise you for using it like Vanquish. Has someone played it in its entirety without using cover ever on the hardest difficulty? On youtube? Then I might accept that claim by defenders.

I've moved on from the rants ever since my thread early last year where I saw people share my complaints and after the recent thread last week, but some others just don't want to agree to disagree that I just hate the gameplay and design of modern Rockstar games. At least other games still go for bullet time so I'm not starved for choice. SUPER HOT SUPER HOT.

There's always at least one lady, and we surround her like a protective nerd bubble. We also go places where there be women too, Mike won one at christmas in a raffle and now they're in luuurve.

Fair play, I was just being a bit tongue in cheek, sorry if I offended!

Anyways, the meets have a history of being a great laugh - I think pretty much everyone who has come had a great time, even if they don't come to 'em all.

If you fancy a giggle of a day in the (hopefully) lovely weather, followed by some drinks and a bit of loud music & ridiculous dancing, come along (even if you just want to come to part of the festivities) - all are welcome & it's great to see new faces and meet more of you beautiful nerds at these things.
