Dat popup and LOD on the trees.

But for real, the lighting looks ridiculous. I think I remember seeing the teaser for this a long time ago, and no one could believe those weren't pre-rendered graphics.

Why do these kickstarter games always get a push at the last possible moment when it's clearly not going to make it? They should be marketing this stuff daily to get peoples attention. Such a shame looks good.

They should try to get on the US Kickstarter.

I'm sure they wish they could, but they can't apparently in Finland.

Found a source:
User: There are dosens of KSÂ’s from non american countries doing KS so thats a bad example. It just takes a bit more work/time/people to work with.
a_Oksaharju: Hey, yeah KS is not available to us directly. And as you pointed out all it takes is more work.

We considered it and came to the conclusion after consulting people who have done it that it would be a too big of an hassle for us at this stage, work and money wise. So carefully considering the options we concluded that the platform will not be an issue. Those who want to support us will do so regardless if weÂ’re on KS or Indiegogo. Both are well known.

That's unfortunate :\

It might be a big hassle, but it'd be better than getting no money.

That's the first time i hear they started a crowd funding campaign. They said they are going to in the interviews after the first gameplay video was released but i had no idea they are already in a middle of one.

Music by Mikko Kallinen: Soundcloud

It'll be too bad if they don't make it, but I agree that the extra effort is worth to get this on kickstarter if you've looked at the highest backed indiegogo campaigns.

Nothing about this game seems to impress me or interest me. The gameplay that's been shown just doesn't look very fun, engaging or interesting as a puzzle game.

Yeah it needs a hook that isn't just the puzzles. It needs character and it cannot just be a written narrative. I think that it won't be funded but it should not stop them from keeping going and maybe get a third party involved who might bring some character to the story. What made portal was not just the puzzles but GLaDOS herself and the companion cube that you suddenly cared about in the game.

I really hope this game gets off the ground.

2 people not including outsourced modelling.

why the hell indiegogo? go KS if you want fixed funding.

edit: oh, I see why.

I understand that it would be a big hassle to get on Kickstarter but I honestly think, with a well done campaign, that the game would get funded and then some on KS. IndieGoGo just isn't as big and popular is it?

That could be done "last gen, just look at Routine.

That could not be done 'last gen'.

Routine is a PC game and is not even released yet.

:/

Anyways, this wont make it and that sucks. I'd seen bits of this game before but had no idea it was undergoing a crowdfunding effort. They didn't seem to do a good job of getting the word out about that, it seems.

I was also planning to make a thread about this today after seeing they needed help.

I pledged as soon as it started but they didn't really do good at marketing it ...
I don't get it, it's just a matter of sending news submits to tons of game news sites and keeping active on a Facebook page or something.
I just sent a news submit to vg247.com in hope they make an article around it.

Also, to OP:
wouldn't it be best to post the Gameplay Tutorial at the top of your post? I think that that's the best trailer to get people hyped. :)

I wonder if trying to do crowdfunding so close to christmas is a bad idea?
I think doing a crowdfunding campaign without sufficient media coverage never works, regardless of when you launch it. This could still make it, it just needs to get the right coverage (quickly).

Anyway, I'm in for €45. I really want this to get made.

"[Players will be traveling] on a fictional island in the Galapagos archipelago. It's an open-world environment roughly 16 square kilometers in size."

That's cool to know, from the Kotaku article.

I've been wanting this game since that first lighting teaser. The fact that it's just two guys makes it that much more impressive.
