Gamescom: 10 Minute Dead Rising 3 Demo

Framerate isn't looking too hot.

The dev said thats what their working on now so hopefully it improves. 30 fps for launch. If its locked at 30, ill be happy.

That said, Lighting looks awesome and so many zambies!!!!!!

And urg at that IGN guy playing, he was so shit omg.

Lighting looked nice and if they manage to lock the FPS at 30, it could be a damn enjoyable game. I love my fix of zombie slaying.

Tessellated wall at the 5 minute mark <3 Reminds me of the ones in the first Hitman Absolution level.

Edit: On a second glimpse it might not be, looked like it was from a distance but up close it didn't look as great. Hard to tell from the off screen, compressed video. Lighting seems pretty nice though, some poor textures here and there but I don't feel it looks like a 360 game.

Looks fun as hell. Hope they can get it to stable 30fps for launch. It's insane how many zombies they can get on screen at once though.

About 1:25 into the video the dev specifically states that they're going to work on the framerate now, which is usually one of the last things to lockdown in development anyways.

Lighting looked great as well, and the sheer number of zombies continue to impress.

Wow, that framerate is really, really bad.
I think I gets down to 10FPS in that video (<- before I saw the steamroller motorcycle part, hello 5FPS!).

Reminds me of State of Decay. A great game plagued by technical problems. I mean the same stuttering problem when you drive a vehicle can be found in the video. I love how it takes place in a town with buildings you can enter this time. Seems they increased the scope a bit from 1 and 2.

When the Xbox One gets cheaper and without Kinect, I'll get one to play this.

The world is bigger than those of DR1 and 2 combined. And there's no loading between zones.

I recently finished DR2 co-op with my friend, and it felt like we spent a third of the time staring at minute-long loading screens.

I'm so glad that I saw them put him in a shark outfit. It really reminds me that this is a Dead Rising game and it hasn't lost it's humor.

They need to fix that framerate, and make it clear they've done so before release.

It's so easy to spoil an otherwise good game that way.

Those guys also made DR2 and the framerate of that game on consoles was abysmal.

sure they'll brush up that framerate issue but that looks really flipping fun especially for something that is just specifically made for that event

So is this sort of like the Dynasty Warriors of zombie games? Looks fun, but in a very shallow mindless kind of way. Frame rate and visuals are looking quite rough though.

Soothing glaswegian tones from the developer. The framerate is poor (dev says it will be 30fps at launch) but the game looks a lot of fun.

I don't understand the need for Capcom to homogenize their interesting franchises.

Resident Evil 6, DMC, Dead Rising. It just doesn't make any sense to me why they would take classic franchises that, historically, have sold well enough and go after an audience that probably isn't interested in the first place.

At least in the case of RE6 and DMC, they ended up with games that were objectively worse than their predecessors. And in DMC's case, at the cost of a significant amount of gameplay depth.

Remains to be seen with Dead Rising, but I have a feeling the sales numbers will not be very good.

Looks damn good visually. Not the mid gen 360 title some are ridiculously trying to portray it as. All they have to do is lock down that frame rate and they have a real winner. That IGN guy should never be allowed to play any game that needs to be sold afterwards....

The lightning looks good, tons of zombies on screen, the explosions and other particle effects look great, the textures look strong in many parts that I've seen, and the environments look nice and busy. This is a great looking game visually. The framerate just needs serious work.
