Aces Wild: Manic Brawling Action! (PC) - what if Bangai-O was a brawler?

Is anyone talking about Aces Wild yet? Just came out, ten bucks on the Humble Store.

Treasure-esque manic fighting, local co-op, awesome style and soundtrack, low barrier to entry, easy to pick up and hard to master.

Trailer

I've played a few stages and it's wonderful - the fighting feels precise and impactful, with simple controls and mechanics that combine for a really tactile and thrilling experience. It doesn't mess around!

VOTE IT UP ON STEAM GREENLIGHT!

A DEMO IS NOW AVAILABLE!

Whoa, that looks awesome!

Is there a demo? Don't have the $$ to get the game right now, but would love to try it

Unfortunately not, and there really needs to be.

Here's a little feature here which I believe is by a GAFer.

I just beat the first boss after 17 attempts, and it was so tough but never unfair - it required me to master the dodges and counters, the Wild system, the way movement works in the game. Absolutely rewarding.

I was that Gaffer yeah, I tend to give impressions on indies every day on my channel :-) .

I really think the developer deserves more credit. Playing it with a controller is recommended, but the controls are super tight and the game is easy enough to get into. The difficulty is way up there, even on the easy mode (called 'Sassy') the bosses can be a nice challenge if you don't pay attention and dodge incoming attacks.

You can also play it with two btw ;-)

I'm curious if anyone has played and gotten particularly far in this. The game looks interesting, but I'm wondering how it holds up longterm.

I've never heard of this game until now and it looks amazing. Buying when I get home tonight.

Wish the developer would have added Steamworks support instead of a bare bones release but hopefully this happens in the near future.

So someone finally made a good 2D DBZ game! On my radar.

2D DBZ couldn't be any closer on the mark.

I urge anyone even glancing @ this game to give the demo a go. I can't say I've played a brawler that actually nailed the 'brawling' aspect as well as this game does in a good second. Easy to pull off fancy shit, difficult to master. Nailing a guard break after an exit was so satisfying it hurt.

Real excited to see ho the co-op fares here in a bit

It's harder than it looks, I hope they do a number 2, this game is right up my alley. It plays about how you would imagine it would.
