Psychonauts: In the Rhombus of Ruin bridges the gap between Psychonauts and its potential sequel. The story centers around the rescue mission of Truman Zanotto, Psychonauts leader and father of Lili Zanotto, who was kidnapped at the conclusion of the first game. This tale runs right up into the beginning of Psychonauts 2.

Unlike traditional Psychonauts, Rhombus of Ruin is played entirely in a first-person perspective. Players still control Raz and wield many of his abilities, with clairvoyance in particular used to leap between different minds.

Right now, it doesn’t appear the game will be as long as a standard Psychonauts game, but it’s still early in development. While Psychonauts 2 is seeking crowdfunding, Rhombus of Ruin is being funded entirely by Sony.

Double Fine plans to release Psychonauts: In the Rhombus of Ruin before Psychonauts 2 (which doesn’t yet have a projected release date, if it happens at all). Schafer promises to share more information at E3.

Wow, the surprises just keep coming. I lost it at the VR pose.

Does Doublefine really have enough staff to handle this many projects?

I think it will be a rather short game. 2-3 hours story mode and some minigames. But that's fine.

Is this going to be playable on the PS4 without PSVR?

I could have sworn they stated on the couch interview after PSX on the same feeds that PSVR wasn't required to play this. It was fairly early in the stream after the keynote ended so shouldn't be hard to find...

I might be on drugs but I thought that is what was said..

Sad that we get an entirely new psycbonauts game and all everyone can talk about is the Palmer Lucky cover from months ago. :(

Is there any way to play the original on PS4 or XB1 at this point?

Lol at that cover.

Why is everyone dipping their biscuits into VR's cup of tea? Namco jump on VR like its gonna be a hit, they can't make exclusive for XB1 but making exclusives for PSVR like it already sold 1 million units. I just hope that these games their put out is just for testing.
