Final Just Cause 2 MP Beta Test (Now Downloaded through Steam!)

Welcome to the very last JC2-MP beta test. It's been a long run, but we're finally ready to release JC2-MP to everyone.

Since August, we've been in radio silence, working hard on the mod. We've hinted at a big surprise, and we think it's time to finally let everyone in on the big secret:

JC2-MP is coming to Steam.

On release, you'll be able to download the client and server from Steam, just like a normal game. This means complete Steam integration, including joining on your friends and more.

Of course, before we release, we need to ensure that 0.1.0 is rock-solid. This beta test will let us work out the final issues, and give everyone a chance to play in the biggest demonstration of chaos this year.

On the day of the test, the game will unlock itself, and you can join the test server.

Two days before the test, we'll release a detailed changelog; and after the test, we'll reveal the release date. One thing is for sure, though: come hell or high water, JC2-MP is coming out this year!

The test is from Dec 7- Dec 14. The download is 26 MB and you get your Steam keys through http://www.jc-mp.com/keys/
 
Wait, what ? They are adding multiplayer?

Maybe just for some experience for the developers, does this mean mad max may see multiplayer?

Either way, exciting!

EDIT: Oh its a mod! that makes waaaay more sense. Should have clicked the link. Damn exciting regardless!
 
I kinda lost track of this not too long after they first started putting it out there, how has it been shaping up performance-wise for people? Some of the initial videos were fucking crazy.

Runs a solid 15 fps higher than SP for me, along with it also being 1080p instead of 720p and having a biiiiit better effects on my laptop. The giant NPC count probably strained it pretty hard, and that's no longer there anymore.
 
Just Cause 2 is on sale right now for $3 on Steam. I kinda want to buy it just so that I can play this mod when it comes out.

JC2 with mods (infinite health, infinite ropes, unbreakable ropes) is the most fun I've had with any game for years and years.

It's just amazing.
 
The MP mod is really fun. and the game itself is pretty fun if you try to do missions in the most insane way possible.

this sounds awesome.. maybe i should buy just cause 2 then.. but i already bought like 15 games during this sale. please stop Steam!! STOP WITH THIS. IT'S TOO MUCH VALUE!
 
Can't wait, I've only missed a few of the beta tests and it's amazing how far they've progressed. I'm a little worried that the severs won't be as populated once it's officially released due to fragmentation, but being on Steam should help offset that somewhat.
 
Oh wow I remember joining the first beta test for it a year or so ago, it worked but since it was the first day the servers were being hammered and had a few problems.

Can't wait to try this out again now that its getting a proper release :D
