For those people that are so confused about "How in the world could this be delayed when Microsoft revealed a deal with Twitch before Sony did?"
I think many of you are forgetting that Sony announced the ability to stream your gameplay BEFORE Microsoft did. They may not have announced how, but that was a feature at their reveal. Sony built the hardware into the PS4 to allow streaming, without an impact on gameplay.
Microsoft may have announced the Twitch deal before Sony, but it almost appears now that Streaming, and maybe even Game DVR, were tacked on in response to Sony. Now Microsoft is still trying to get Streaming to work correctly.
Also, for those that are saying this isn't a big deal, nobody is going to do it, why would anyone want to watch others play games! I totally agreed with you, before last Friday. On my PS4, in just a few clicks of my D Pad, I can go over to Live with Playstation, and it immediately pulls up a ton of games currently being streamed.
This weekend, I watched a couple of streams, which were very High QUality, of NFS Rivals. I bought it 2 days ago just because of the streams. Last night, I sat back watching several streams of NBA Live, it was like a comedy. Game looked awful. I was also able to pull up some Battlefield 4 Multiplayer, and some Madden. It is instant.
So for me, streaming USED to not be a big deal at all. But now, it immediately impacted my thoughts about NFS Rivals, and I bought it when it wasn't on my radar. I also go to see first hand how Crappy NBA Live was, and realize I didn't want Madden anymore. All of this from my PS4, on my screen, without even searching for it. I clicked the icon on my PS4 OS, then clicked on a thumbnail of one of the current streams. Quick, easy, effective.
