yeah FF Type-0 does not appeal to me, and even XIII-2 or LR did that. The drop is no indication that the franchise is done.

It's not done, but there's no denying that the Lightning trilogy damaged the brand, given the huge drop in sales between instalments.

But yeah, Type 0 was hugely over priced. It's an impressive remaster, admittedly, but still should never have been more than ÂŁ30 at the very most, and I'd even consider that slightly taking the piss.

Type 0 HD dropped quick, thought that might stay strong for a while without much jRPG competition.

I'm guessing there's an overlap with the Bloodborne userbase, I know I was in a situation of buy Bloodborne now and wait for the the FF-0 price drop later or vice versa... Which is really a no brainer despite the FFXV demo pack in.

that drop Type 0 got is bad, especially on Xbox, makes me wonder why they even bothered to release the game on there anyway, i'm not getting any J games on xbox unless they are exclusive and that's pretty darn rare anyway

That's why Scalebound has a rather western/fantasy design.

that game could be a full on J RPG and i'd get it on Xbox as its an exclusive, but what i'm saying is, if that game was multiplatform, (or any J game for that matter) my default system to get them on is Playstation as that's where J games have been associated with for me and many other gamers.

I partly blame MS and that bait and switch they pulled early last gen with all the J RPGs they got and then just dried up immediately afterwards (the J games were the reason I got the console)

MCV was a week behind when it was posted, so it will be looking at the BF/FF debut week. It was on Thursday last week.

Thanks. Completely missed it was a week behind, didn't even occur to me that HL and FF weren't on that chart.

Shows how much I care about those games.

hehe, yes that initial JRPG push is why I'll eventually buy a 360. Already got a couple of the games lying around.

While its collapse in the charts is surprising, I wouldn't say the 5k+ sales they otherwise wouldn't have gotten is necessarily a bad thing for SE.

Not to mention any digital sales. I doubt SE went into it thinking they'd sell a huge amount, it's a port of a years old game after all.

I'd say Revelations 2 is the bigger concern.

That never got released in the west, as far as non-Japan is concerned it's a new game on the new systems, plus it sounds like they put a lot of effort into this technically on the new consoles as well doesn't sound like simple up-res port that could have been done on, oh I don't know, a PSVita /still salty.

wow that is a massive drop.

I guess FF13/last gen really damaged this series.

We don't know this yet. There really is little to no data to back this up, and I wish people would stop saying it. We won't know until Final Fantasy XV launches, since the only FF games we've had launch since XIII are either spin offs, remasters, ports or sequels to FFXIII. Of course, we had FFXIV but that was an MMO.

Great Bloodborne numbers to be sure though. The game is incredible and easily my favourite of the generation so far. If it manages to sell as much as Dark Souls II worldwide, I'm sure FROM wouldn't mind doing more exclusives (Bloodborne 2?) for Sony. I'm sure Sony will request it anyway given the critical reception alone.

That's pretty good for Bloodborne, hopefully will have the legs to eventually pass 100k. Hardline is doing amazingly well and from my knowledge it hasn't got a price drop or anything along those lines. In US it's already $40 so even on a 1:1 ratio the game costs more in the UK than US yet is still doing so well!

Seems like some new PS4 owners attracted by Bloodborne also tried The Order, or is it just a little price cut ? =)

It's bundled and the game got a price drop. RRP for The Order/Bloodborne and PS4 is ÂŁ349 so basically 2 new releases for free.

More people playing it though the better. My fave game this year so far, though competition is really light admittedly. But still a game I enjoyed very much.

yeah did a brief look around and a few places have The Order at around ÂŁ29.99

I don't know what to think about Borderlands.

I expected it to sell more on PS4 as it was leading in preordered on Amazon for weeks.

If they had a shared trophy/achievement list I would of expected it to be higher on the Xbox.

Is there much of a difference between the sales can anyone tell?

Amazon is only a portion of the market.

Amazon is only a portion of the market.
I know that but it has been a good indicator on how games generally sell.

So far on Amazon
1. Bloodborne
2. Battlefield PS4
3. Dying Light PS4
4. Borderlands PS4
5. Battlefield Xbox One

It more or less in line with what we have in the charts.

PS4 is right behind XB1 so the difference is likely minimal. All it means is at retail XB1 sold bit more in ratio to PS4 than on Anazon.

Amazon statistically won't always mirror all other channels so on occasion there will be differences.

on PS4 it shared release date with Bloodborne. Take any person who bought Bloodborne last week and with very high certainty, that person won't have bought THS, which is such a huge timesink.

We'll see about THS' legs on each console next week.

wow that is a massive drop.

Not really unexpected. At the end of the day its just a PSP port and wont appeal to as many people as a mainline entry would (I am also sure the inclusion of a demo pushed sales higher than they would have been).

Bloodborne slaying.

Great to see Bloodborne being on top in the UK. It's also nice to see The Order 1886 in the top 10. RaD should be given a second chance IMO.

Toukiden sold badly on both consoles it seems (yeah, I know it's third on Vita only chart, but...it's Vita). But I wonder if it sold equally on both platform.

Given the failure on PS4, I wonder where software houses are going to bring their hunting action games after PSV, if Sony is not going to release another handheld.

When can we expect the new MCV top ten?

Be interesting to see how the top ten looks with digital sales factored in.

The problem with MCV top ten is that it doesn't include digital sales. It only includes some digital sales that some companies decided to share with them which is something I don't really feel confortable considering it can be easily exploitable.

MCV asks EA how many copies of BF: Hardline were sold on the UK Origin/PSN/XBLA and they say 400k copies. Where is the proof? Might as well go to the banned site if we start forming opinions from a chart that doesn't name their sources which MCV doesn't.

If their digital sales chart is to be trusted they have at least to name those that shared their data.

Didn't MCV asterisk the games with shared digital sales data? The BIU sales awards rely on the same source.

edit: I agree with you, because MCV don't say which data they got. But it is still nice information about smaller titles.

I'm actually surprised BF hardline is holding so well considering its average critical reception.
The average gamer that plays COD/BF/Sports could careless about reviews. I've seen a lot of casual gamers on my facebook feed talking about how Hardline is amazing haha
