Playstation TV 50% off tomorrow morning on Amazon [Sold Out]

Only if you see yourself needing more than the 1GB of internal memory.
To be fair, getting just about anything digitally is going to run over that.

Best bet is just to get the Value Pack; an 8GB memory card is plenty of room to work with.

Bought for $65 a while ago. I really recommend Persona 4 and Danganronpa to all of you looking to buy one. Those 2 games(3 with Danganronpa 2) alone make the PS TV worth it imo.

Wish they did those offers in the UK, $39.99 is basically 20 quid here.

As a PSTV Owner there are a few things I wanted to clarify:

Is remote play streamed in 1080p?
No, The PS4 remote play streams at a max of 720p no matter the device (at least for now)

Is remote play 60fps?
No, it is currently capped at 30fps (720p @ 30fps)

Can I stream netflix?
No Netflix app on PSTV (yes, it doesn't make sense)

Can I stream netflix through my PS4 then remote play it to the PSTV?
No, you can't simultaneously stream while doing remote play from PS4,

Can I play online multiplayer using remote play on PSTV?
Yes, I played the Hardline Beta over the weekend and my KD was decent

Can I Shareplay while remote playing PS4 from my PSTV?
No, Shareplay is always disabled while using remote play

Can I use the DS4 with PSTV?
YES!

Do PS+ / Crossbuy games work on PSTV?
Yes, it is basically a Vita when it comes to this, BUT be sure the game is compatible (There is a compatibility list floating around here somewhere)

Do the L2 and R2 buttons work with Vita games?
No, but they do with remote play or any games that actually utilize them

Does the DS4 touchpad work?
Yes, it also acts as the screen touch for vita games.

Can the PSTV charge my controllers?
Yes, with a cord of course

*****FOR THOSE LOOKING TO BUY PSTV FOR PS4 REMOTE PLAY PURPOSES*****
I wanted to give everyone a heads up on this, I have my PS4 hardwired. I originally had my PSTV running on Wifi. The remote play worked but there was noticeable lag. some games it wasn't a big deal, but most games it was. I was pretty bummed out by this because I have a Vita and the lag is negligible when I remote play with it over WiFi. SO I decided to Hardwire the PSTV and try that out and.....it was amazing! Little to no lag, and as good if not better than when I would remote play on Vita. Also some other tips are to make sure your TV is set to "Game mode" to make that as lag free as possible and set the resolution on PSTV to "720p" instead of "auto" this also helped.

Long story short....
Be sure you can hardwire both your PS4 and PSTV for the best remote play experience. If you have the ability to do this in your house then buying PSTV should be a no brainer. I am constantly using mine to do so now!

Hope this helps!

Can I throw this in my cart now and buy it when the deal starts or do I have to wait for the deal to start in order to get the discount?

Hmm this is on sale at like 4am my time.

Do people expect this to sell out quite quick?

I know there's this thread, a thread on reddit, and a post on cheapassgamer so a decent amount of people know about it. Just depends on Amazon's stock. I also think a lot of people will go for the bundle first if that's also discounted, so the standalone PSTV might still be there when you get up, but no guarantees.

Someone earlier in the thread asked this and the response was that you have to add it to your cart after the deal begins.

Thanks for the response.

It will be an impulse buy if I do grab one so no harm if they're all sold out.

Ah okay. Thanks.

:o Whoa, cool! I might have to try for this, 11:00am my time. Hopefully my tax appointment will be short and I'll have money to use towards this in the near future! :D

I did ask earlier but it's sort if been lost in the deluge of posts.

I'm in the UK, is there any disadvantage in me importing a US version instead of buying a UK version? All my games are on a UK account and are downloaded.
Any voltage issues or can I just use my PS3 lead to power it.

Thanks.

You'll make us US buyers cry if it sells out too fast... Think of us!

I'm thinking of buying this to extend my ps4 into my basement.

My whole house is wired via Ethernet power line adapters.

Will I be disappointed?

The longer this thread goes on, the more scared I am that I'll get in on this in time... I have to be out and about at the time and my connection is going to be spotty at best on my phone.

Can't believe I'm on the fence about this thing. I know people joke about it being worth it solely as a P4G/Danganronpa machine, but those look like literally the only games I would actually get after looking through that compatibility list.

I'm tempted now.

Some people said that Persona 4 Golden isn't great as people claimed it to be.

I wonder which one is better. Persona 4 vs. Persona 4 Golden.

What features or changes that are missing in Golden?

Wish they would do this offer in the UK. At 50% off that would make it £39.99 (Amazon's UK store price) and I'd buy it at that price.

I don't know for sure, but I don't think any features are cut from vanilla to Golden. I think only stuff was added.

EDIT: Here's a breakdown off all the changes from vanilla to Golden: http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Persona_4_Golden

Golden has a lot of quality of life fixes, as well as an additional vacation scenario in the later part of the game. It is the best version of the game.

Am I missing something?

People keep bumping this thread with "in for one" and "tempted now", however as far as I can tell this deal ended mid yesterday.

I only discovered the thread last night after it was over and was bummed out. I would have picked one up for $40.

Not sure if we're looking at the same list, but Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd can be played on the PSTV after you change the options to use analog sticks instead of touch controls. Best music game on the Vita IMO.

No, it's not gone up yet. The OP has a countdown.

I guess you missed something or something is wrong with your browser because this is how the deal looks when I go to amazon

I'm going to ask a somewhat stupid question:

As someone who owns a PSP and
probably WAY too
many games but is not a PS4 owner, is the PS TV even worth it as a gaming device? I don't need another PS1, and it can't replace my current Netflix/Hulu/Amazon devices... I really loved the idea of a stationary Vita initially, and I want to support the concept, but the seemingly limited library of Vita and reliance on players wanting older titles doesn't really grab me, even at half the price...

I'd love feedback from GAF on the value, though.

[edit] not a persona fan, btw. Forgot to mention that

That's an insane deal, but with a PS3, PS4, and a Vita; I just don't see the point in me buying this. Anyone without those and is on the fence about it, as it's been said here do it for P4 Golden.
